Dr. Gitlin earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He returned to William Beaumont Hospital as a research assistant for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He then completed three residencies, first serving as house officer for the Department of Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, then for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital, and finally for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia.
Dr. Gitlin completed his post-doctoral training as a pain fellow at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Board-certified anesthesiologist Marc Ian Wittenberg, MD, is passionate about pain management. He shares this enthusiasm and expertise with his patients at Neuro Pain Consultants in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, at the hospital with colleagues, in the classroom with medical students, and even at the United States Ryder Cup, where he once served as chief pain physician for the U.S. Cup Team.
Dr. Wittenberg began his medical education as an undergraduate student at Wayne State University, where he graduated cum laude. He earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and went on to serve a surgical internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Dr. Wittenberg continued his post-doctoral education at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, where he completed an anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship.
When he isn’t helping patients at Neuro Pain Consultants, he can be found working on several hospital committees or with colleagues in professional societies. Dr. Wittenberg is a member of the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spinal Injection Society, the International Anesthesiology Research Society, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
Timothy Matway, MD, is a highly qualified and board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at Neuro Pain Consultants in Bloomfield Hills, conveniently located in the northern suburbs of Detroit’s metropolitan area, and Clarkston, located in Oakland County in southeast Michigan. His commitment to pain relief extends beyond his work with patients to educating future physicians — he’s a guest lecturer at Wayne State University’s Department of Anesthesiology.
He began his medical career as an undergraduate at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he graduated with honors while double majoring in kinesiology and physiology. Dr. Matway went on to medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He continued onto Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center to intern in preliminary anesthesia/medicine/surgery, and later completed an anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship there.

Dr. Jeff S. Pierce is the Medical Director at Michigan Sports & Spine Centers, PC.
