Dr. Brian J. Hiapo Jr, DPM, AACFAS, DABPM, is an experienced Board Certified Podiatrist and the co-founder of Arizona Foot and Ankle Medical Center in Laveen, Arizona. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Hiapo can communicate thoroughly with patients of varying backgrounds and needs. He frequently treats patients with heel pain, ingrown nails, bunions, hammertoes, ulcerations, and all other foot and ankle conditions that lead to pain and discomfort.
Dr. Hiapo began his education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he was also an accomplished member of the nationally-ranked men's volleyball team. It is because of his passion for all things sports-related that he chose to become a specialist in foot and ankle sports-related injuries and injury prevention. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies before attending Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida, for his medical training.
After graduating with his medical degree, he returned home to Arizona for a rigorous residency in podiatric surgery at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona. There, he was named chief resident and was in charge of 11 of his podiatric surgeon peers.
In addition to a successful three-year residency where he received training alongside multiple nationally recognized specialists, Dr. Hiapo published his own research in his field. He brings this knowledge to Arizona Foot and Ankle Medical Center and keeps up with all other current research and modern treatments.
Dr. Hiapo brings his high level of dedication and attention to detail to Arizona Foot and Ankle Medical Center. He works tirelessly to ensure that each of his patients feels comfortable and cared about throughout their treatment.

Dr. Rand is a Florida native who completed his Undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and then went on to Medical school at Barry University, School of Podiatric Medicine. He moved to Arizona for his residency training at Maricopa Medical Center. The advanced residency program at Maricopa included one full year of general surgery, which allowed Dr. Rand to become the third podiatrist in the country to own a General Surgery Internship Certificate. Dr. Yehia Elebrashi is nearly an Arizona native, originally born in Los Angeles, California but moved to Phoenix with his family during early childhood. He attended Deer Valley High school and moved on to gain his undergraduate degree in Genetics and Cell Developmental Biology at Arizona State University.
Dr. Elebrashi continued on to complete his Podiatric medical degree at Midwestern University. He successfully completed a rigorous 3-year residency training at Maricopa Medical center in Phoenix, a level 1 trauma and burn center, consisting of a 1-year General Surgery/Trauma/Burn internship followed by a focused 2-year Podiatric and Orthopedic surgical inpatient service and high-volume community health clinic.
He is fluent in Arabic and continues to expand his Spanish dialogue. He has a love for nature, art, music, travel, wildlife and sports. He can usually be found hanging out with with family and friends, exploring the Arizona outdoors or admiring your local art gallery.

Dr. Devin Bland graduated from Midwestern University in 2013. After graduation, he completed his surgical residency at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Bland chose to further his surgical skill set by completing one of the premier lower extremity reconstruction fellowships with the American Foundation of Lower Extremity Surgery and Research. Dr. Bland welcomes all forms of pathology. He has a special interest in Charcot Reconstruction, Total Ankle Arthroplasty, Revision Surgery, Pediatrics, and other complex presentations.
Dr. Bland holds multiple board certifications. He currently practices in a multispecialty group in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Bland is adjunct faculty at Midwestern University. He often precepts students and gives back to younger doctors completing their training. Dr. Bland has received many awards and recognition for his surgical ability in treating advanced and revisional pathology. He has authored textbook chapters relating to bone grafting, and continues to publish leading research. One of Dr. Bland’s great joys in life is correcting pathology that has hindered a patient’s enjoyment of activity for an extended period of time or save a limb that otherwise would end in amputation.
Dr. Mark T. Lewis was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and raised in Southern California. He graduated from The University of California, San Diego. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in 1990. The next two years he worked as a research assistant in Immunopharmacology at one of the leading Cancer Research Centers in the United States. After spending the next year working in the private sector at a pharmaceutical company, Dr. Lewis enrolled in Podiatry school in 1993.
He received his Doctrate of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. Dr. Lewis completed 4 years of residency training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery: two years at The Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles and two years at The Franciscan Foot and Ankle Institute in Seattle. He served the role of chief resident at both residencies.
Dr. Lewis trained with both podiatric and orthopedic surgeons during his residency. He was fortunate to be able to travel internationally to the Philippines and Mexico to perform surgical treatment of complex deformities to the citizens of these countries. After graduating from his residency, Dr. Lewis remained very active in academics and residency training of both podiatric, osteopathic, and allopathic residents. He participated on the residency training committee for many years and was awarded multiple times the instructor of the year award by the residents he trained.
After residency, Drs. Mark and Petrina Lewis founded Northwest Foot and Ankle Center, PS and provided conservative and surgical treatment as members of a large Orthopedic Surgery Practice in Renton, Washington. After leaving the orthopedic practice in 2005, Dr. Lewis continues to practice in Renton focusing on conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle problems. He has a particular interest in podiatric biomechanics, orthotics, sports medicine, heel pain, and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Lewis is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association.

Marta Riniker, DPM, is a fellowship-trained and board certified foot and ankle surgical podiatrist, serving patients at Phoenix Foot and Ankle Institute's Phoenix, AZ location.
Prior to her career in podiatry, Dr. Riniker attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science, laying the foundation for a comprehensive understanding of human health. She went on to study at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine where she was a member of the Pi Delta Honors Society and graduated in 2014. She then completed a rigorous three-year foot and ankle surgical residency in Portland, Oregon, honing her skills in foot and ankle surgery. Following residency, she furthered her training by pursuing a one-year fellowship in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction, relocating back to Pennsylvania. She practiced in the Santa Fe area of New Mexico and in Tucson before relocating to Phoenix to join Dr. McAlister at Phoenix Foot and Ankle Institute. Her extensive training prepared her to be able to treat all aspects of foot and ankle conditions, but she takes a particular clinical and surgical interest in sports injuries, foot and ankle fractures, strains and sprains, acute and chronic foot and ankle pain, wound care, and foot and ankle deformity correction.
Outside of work, Dr. Riniker has many interests and hobbies including hiking, yoga, running, going to the gym, camping, traveling, and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in town. She is a dog mom to an adorable Pomeranian who joins her on a lot of her adventures.
Dr. Riniker is committed to delivering the highest quality care to her patients. She places great importance on a team approach, developing a treatment plan together with her patient that is individually tailored to each person’s specific goals and needs. She takes a conservative approach to foot and ankle care whenever possible by employing non-invasive treatments and preventive strategies. James Schmidt, DPM is a highly skilled podiatrist dedicated to serving patients at HealthyU Clinics at our Gilbert, Avondale, and Phoenix, Arizona, clinics. Dr. Schmidt enjoys treating the foot and ankle and all that it entails. He grew to love the Arizona desert while attending Podiatry School at Midwestern University here in Glendale, Arizona. Residency training took Dr. Schmidt to Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he received extensive medical and surgical training in all aspects of the foot and ankle. Dr. Schmidt is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (AACFAS). Additionally, he is Board Qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and is a Board Certified Diplomat for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
