Board-certified podiatrist Varun Gujral, DPM, brings over 15 years of experience in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, and sports medicine to Affiliated Foot & Ankle Care, with offices in Edison, Monroe, and Monmouth Junction, New Jersey.

Dr. Gujral was born in New Delhi and raised in Staten Island, New York. He began his professional education at Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology. Dr. Gujral then enrolled at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, where he received his doctorate in podiatry, graduating near the top of his class.

After medical school, Dr. Gujral moved to Pittsburgh for a primary podiatric medical residency at West Penn Hospital. He later completed a residency in foot and ankle surgery at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

Since entering private practice, Dr. Gujral has continued to build upon his professional knowledge and expertise. Experienced podiatrist Nrupa Shah, DPM, specializes in the treatment of pediatric foot deformities, sprains and fractures, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Affiliated Foot & Ankle Care, with offices in Edison, Monroe, and Monmouth Junction, New Jersey.

Dr. Shah was born in Gujarat, India, and raised in Central Jersey. After graduating from Linden High School, in Linden, New Jersey, she stayed in state to begin her professional education at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology.

After she discovered her passion for human anatomy, Dr. Shah decided to pursue a postgraduate degree and enrolled in the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. After earning her doctorate in podiatry, she moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, to complete a podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Hoboken University Medical Center. She served as chief resident in the department of podiatric surgery from July 2011 to June 2012.

Dr. Jay Bhuta

Dr. Jay Bhuta, DPM, is a podiatric surgical expert at Ankle & Foot Doctors of New Jersey located in Millburn and Livingston of New Jersey. Dr. Bhuta specializes in both conservative and surgical treatments of ankle and foot using the most advanced tools available. Bryan Makower, DPM, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and has experience in all aspects of podiatric medicine. He holds board certification from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) in podiatric orthopedics and primary medicine. He is also board certified in wound care by the American Professional Wound Care Association as well as certified in hyperbaric medicine for advanced treatment of difficult wounds and limb salvage.

Dr. Makower brings more than 35 years of experience in podiatry, orthopedic surgery, limb salvage, and ankle reconstruction to Downstate Foot & Ankle Podiatry, located in Fort Greene, Flatbush, East Flatbush, Brownsville, and Bedford Stuyvesant, in Brooklyn, New York. 

Dr. Makower grew up in various parts of Central Brooklyn, including Crown Heights, Fort Green, and Prospect Lefferts Gardens. After graduating from SUNY Binghamton he began his professional education at Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). After completing a surgical residency program at one of the Harvard affiliated hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Makower returned home to begin his professional career in Central Brooklyn.  

Outside of treating patients at Downstate Foot & Ankle Podiatry, Dr. Makower has served as the chief of podiatric medicine and surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and The State University of New York Downstate Medical Center’s University Hospital of Brooklyn. Dr. Cacace began her professional education at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience. Innjea Park, DPM, is a highly experienced podiatrist with years of training, serving patients in the New York area, including Murray Hill, Midtown East, Financial District, and Staten Island. Dr. Park speaks English, Korean, and Japanese fluently.
