Alex is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with extensive experience in a variety of outpatient settings. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration and Management from Boston University, as well as a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University.
Alex has experience in both outpatient and in-home settings, working with adolescents, and adults to help them navigate complex mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment issues, and low self-esteem. He also has experience working with couples and families to explore complex relational patterns and improve effective communication skills. He currently works in Hopewell’s Adult IOP program, in addition to offering individual counseling to clients.
Alex is passionate about helping people navigate and cope with both internal mental health challenges and external stressors. He utilizes several evidence-based approaches to therapy, including IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). In addition to using these theoretical frameworks, Alex creates a safe, compassionate space in session which invites open and honest dialogue. This way of being empowers clients to challenge themselves and grow stronger and more resilient.
In his spare time, Alex enjoys working out, playing sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
