Described my back pain. Dr. Lee listened carefully, applied pressure in areas of which I had complained. He then told me that there was nothing that could be done to remove the problems. He suggested exercises which might help. I Show morestated I was doing them irregularly. He told me to do them regularly and return in several months. I was pleased by his honest assessment and by his belief there was no medical procedure that would help. A much better explanation than saying he would try something which had a very small chance of improving my condition. He gave me straight information which didn’t lead to more visits which would incur fees but without much chance of fixing my problem. As usual, Dr. Lee gave me an honest opinion, not one looking for more business.
Upon arrival the office was beautiful and very clean. The front desk girl was so friendly. The assistant bright me back promptly and took a brief history. He completed the exam and gave recommendations after a bit of coaching with his PA. He gave a few recommendations and we decided to try trigger point injections. Another assistant came in to set up and he returned promptly. He did the injections, easy with no pain, while teaching his PA. Checked on me throughout the process. I would highly recommend Dr Lee!
Anthony Lee, MD, believes in finding the best non-operative and personalized treatment for every patient at Synergy Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a physiatrist, Dr. Lee holds board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as the subspecialty of pain medicine. He has extensive training and experience in the benefits of physical therapy, and as a holistic practitioner, he helps patients maintain wellness with nutritional and lifestyle support.
Dr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Arts in microbiology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Then he returned home to Georgia, where he received a Master of Science in Microbiology from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
After finishing his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, Dr. Lee completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During his training, he proudly served as chief resident for two years. Dr. Lee went on to complete a sports medicine and interventional spine fellowship at Southwest Spine and Sports in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Since 2010, Dr. Lee has been named a Top Doc seven times by Phoenix Magazine, most recently in 2016 and 2019. He has served as a board member for the Maricopa County Medical Society and as the President of the Arizona Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. At the national level, he has served on and chaired the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Presidents Council Executive Committee.
Dr. Lee has served in many community organizations, including as a board member for Asian Corporate and Entrepreneur Leaders, a group that focuses on developing leaders from the Asian American community. More recently, he served on the Board of Trustees for the Arizona Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
With his college tennis playing days behind him, Dr. Lee now spends his free time traveling with his wife and daughter, golfing, hiking, and enjoying wine and unique food experiences.
