About Dr. Colin Kress, DO

Colin Kress, DO, is an experienced anesthesiologist and pain management specialist. He provides high-quality diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain conditions at Cleaver Medical Group Interventional Pain offices in Dahlonega, Dawsonville, and Cumming, Georgia.

Dr. Kress was raised in the great state of Georgia. After completing an undergraduate degree at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta GA he went on to complete his medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate Tennessee. He went on to complete his Anesthesiology Residency in Michigan at Mclaren Oakland Hospital, part of Michigan States University. During his last year he was elected to be Chief Resident. He went on to complete his fellowship in interventional pain management also at Mclaren Oakland Hospital, part of Michigan States University.

During his fellowship training he performed a multitude of interventional procedures geared at helping to reduce chronic pain and improve functionality while also reducing need for opioid medications. Upon completion of his fellowship he moved back to Georgia where he was raised and joined Dr. Cleaver whom he had known while in training. His professional interests include low back pain, radicular pain, joint pain, neck pain, thoracic pain, osteoarthritis, peripheral nerve stimulators, spinal cord stimulators, radiofrequency ablation.

His main reason for pursuing a pain management career is to help reduce chronic pain. He does this thorough use of a multimodal approach to treatment with the aim of improving quality and functionality of life while minimizing use of opioid medications. Dr. Kress believes it is essential to take the time to educate his patients regarding their condition. In his free time he enjoys spending time outdoors, skiing and with his Family.  

He currently has privileges at Emory Hospital - Johns Creek and Northeast Georgia.
