I have an enlarged prostrate, not unusual for a 75 year old male. As my PSA came in at over 4 points I became concerned about the possibility of cancer. Dr. Bong was recommended by staff at St. Francis so I made an appointment. Show moreDr. Bong did an exam and because of the large size of my prostrate and the PSA result, scheduled a biopsy. This turned out to be a rather painless non surgical procedure done in his office. The results were negative. About 5 years later my prostate had grown more and I was unable to urinate. Dr. Bong performed a Trans Urethral Resection Procedure to open up my urethra and allow me to urinate. He is extremely knowledgeable and considerate of his patients needs. He explains conditions and procedures thoroughly and takes time to answer questions. I highly recommend Dr. Bong.
Dr. Bong is the absolute best! Over a year ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Dr. Bong was there for me every step of the way with my treatment. Prior to surgery he answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns in Show moredeciding whether I should have surgery as opposed to radiation. After I opted for surgery, Dr. Bong performed my surgery with great succuess. With my followup appointments he is always thorough with explanations and always anwers all questions that I may have. He is always pleasant, compassionate, and genuinely caring. I also appreciate his sense of humor and feel that I am visting with a friend and not just my doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Bong!

He specializes in laparoscopic surgeries, including laparoscopic cryotherapy for kidney cancer as well as daVinci® robotic surgery for prostatectomy and cystectomy procedures.
Dr. Bong attended medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. Following graduation, he completed his general surgery internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, earning the distinction of being recognized as Intern of the Year. He then stayed at the Medical University of South Carolina to complete his residency training in urology, with an emphasis on minimally invasive oncologic surgery.
In addition to work with CSUA: Woodmen, Dr. Bong is the Chief of Robotic Urologic Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs. He is dedicated to providing his patients with the best surgical urologic care possible.
