My colonoscopy went very smoothly due to a caring, personable, and accommodating staff and the skill of Dr. Jeffrey Mathews. Dr. Mathews gently woke me up from the anesthesia and provided me with the outcome both verbally and withShow more a written copy for my records. My only caveat is that the prep was a branded prescription one that was expensive and more inconvenient than the preps for my previous two colonoscopies. I do understand that doctors want to find a prep that is is efficient and thorough, but after using Miralax and Gatorade in the past, the expense, even with partial coverage with Part D, came as a shock. I am fortunate and could afford it. I worry that other seniors on fixed incomes might find it daunting. However, other than this prep issue—all preps are relatively unpleasant in my book—I’m very happy with the facility, with the staff, the responsiveness and quality of care, and with Dr. Mathews.
My experience was great, the front office prior to the actual event had a lot of issues. They sent me the initial paperwork with the date, time and doctor performing the procedure HIGHLIGHTED and it was all wrong - it said a dateShow more in 2014 and a doctor that has retired! I have to say that did not make me feel totally confident in the facility. Then they prescribed a $200 prep that the pharmacist was never able to see if my insurance would cover or not, after standing there for 15 minutes. I called and got a new prep for $0 and they said they would email instructions, to not follow the instructions on the box. That email never came so I called for a third time to get it. Everyone I saw on Thursday was awesome and I was totally at ease, but you need to take a look at your office people.

The F.N.P. I met with was very attentive and easy to talk too. A negative of the practice is the doctor I was going to left the practice and his customers were not informed. When I tried to see another doctor I was told it would be a three month wait. I guess there is always the emergency room if needed. I was happy that I was able to talk to Mrs.Aubuchon that only took a month to see her. I have now reestablished myself with another doctor in the group.
