Dr. Harris is seriously my favorite doctor in New York City. I don't know how she does it but she's always in a good mood and seems to be having genuine fun at work. (Which is funny considering what the nature of the work is.) SerShow moreiously the best. I've even recommended her to out of state friends.

Marsha Harris, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified general surgeon and colon and rectal surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. She provides comprehensive and compassionate care to patients at her New York City-based practice, Park Avenue Colon and Rectal Surgery in Murray Hill, Manhattan.
Dr. Harris grew up in Jamaica, Queens, in New York City. She attended the College of Arts and Sciences at New York University, where she majored in chemistry and minored in mathematics. While attending New York University (NYU), she was an All-American women’s basketball player and won a national championship in her junior year. She later earned her medical degree in 2002 from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency training there as well in 2007. At the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando at the University of Florida, she completed her fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery in 2008.
While practicing colon and rectal surgery in Manhattan, Dr. Harris is also a clinical assistant professor of surgery in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at NYU. She also has several publications in the Diseases of Colon and Rectum medical journal. Dr. Harris has practiced earnestly in the field with special interests in minimally invasive surgery for colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, and colon motility disorders. She has worked extensively with patients with anorectal diseases, rectal prolapse, pilonidal disease, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Dr. Harris is a member and fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. She has been recertified by the American Board of Surgeons as well as the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Harris has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctor and has received the Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award, Vitals Patient Choice award, and Healthgrades Honor Roll.
