@ 5 yrs with my relationship with Dr O. My 4 yr anniversary of him fixing my Afib is Mar 2024. My latest visit gives me a good example of Dr O’s problem handling; My family practice doc pushing the statin on me due to my HDL & LShow moreDL being not normal while my total cholesterol is 167 < 200, after 3 yrs of me finally doing cardio walking the hills 3.5 miles (3 to 5 days per week) & getting my weight to normal. All my work & I still have to take a pill ? So a simple CT calcium scan of my heart arteries & I get a # that tells me if I’m toast & have to take the pill. I’m sure grateful of his skillset to handle problems as my Afib was persistent & to think of the patience you have to have to do that procedure, concentration, just amazing. As you can tell I’m really high on TPN, Core, TMH, my various docs for all my body parts have got me to 69 & I’m shooting for 78 yrs (Entry into Service, I’m doing my 3.5 mile walk while I’m writing this masterpiece). Just top notch people !

A triple diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Matthew Ostrom, MD, is board-certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. Dr. Ostrom, who has more than 15 years of experience, serves the Los Angeles communities of Torrance and Redondo Beach, California, at COR Healthcare Medical Associates.
Born and raised in Seattle, Dr. Ostrom received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Washington in 1999. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Dr. Ostrom was actively involved in cardiovascular research at the university and at the local biotechnology company ZymoGenetics, Inc.
Shortly after graduating, Dr. Ostrom began his medical studies at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) system. In addition, Dr. Ostrom pursued cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California, and at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.
Today, Dr. Ostrom is a practicing electrophysiologist, specializing in catheter and device-based therapies in the treatment of complex arrhythmias, syncope, sudden cardiac death, and heart failure.
His research interests include the ablation of complex arrhythmias and device-based treatments for sudden cardiac death and congestive heart failure. Dr. Ostrom has authored or co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed cardiology and electrophysiology journals.
In addition to his work at COR Healthcare Medical Associates, Dr. Ostrom is on staff at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center and Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

Dr. Ostrom has always treated me with respect and has been a good listener. Care is excellent and issues are addressed immediately whenever they arise. His staff has been responsive for follow-ups if needed.
Dr. Ostrom listens to what you have to say and responds accordingly. He does not jump to putting you on a drug regimen if that isn't really necessary. He considers feedback from the patient when determining treatment.
