Robert C. Platner, MD, brings more than 20 years of experience in pediatric medicine to Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics, serving children and adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout Fulton County.
Dr. Platner was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He began his professional pursuits at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his undergraduate degree. The following year, Dr. Platner enrolled at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. He subsequently completed a residency in pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Platner is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergies, as well as attention-deficit disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD). When he isn’t working with patients or augmenting his professional skills, Dr. Platner serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Emory School of Medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Platner enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing guitar. He also loves the great outdoors and regularly hikes and kayaks. Dr. Platner welcomes any family seeking comprehensive pediatric care to Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics.

We absolute LOVE Dr. Edwards, she always takes her time with us to make sure we are comfortable and that all of our questions are answered. Our girls are always excited to see the Doctors at O4W and our family could not be happier with the care we receive.

Dr. Williams is the best! She actually listens to my questions and concerns and always does it with a smile. She’s my go to pediatrician for my 6 year old with autism and now my newborn!

This was my doctor’s office ever since I was 6. I am 36 years old and I have always love them as a child and now my children love them. This is the best doctor’s office…. HANDS DOWN! I trust them with my life! My children nieces and nephews only go to this office. You want someone you can trust that will put your child’s best interests at heart? This is the place for you! They also advocate for parents! Looooooove them! Especially the male nurse, Tracy, and the other nurse who gives shots. They are the SUPER TEAM. The are MY FAMILY!!!
I LOVEEEE HER! She’s always so informative, And kind, So gentle with the kids, and always have a very positive energy! Compassionate and always get us in and out….! The entire doctor’s office is the bomb…! I moved 1hr-45 mins away and will continue to make the trips because of the professional service they provide . Thank God for them…!
