Had a few issues with the probe coding of my gums. I think the lidocaine was administered in a not careful way that ended up affecting my tongue and throat. The tech did the probing without waiting for the lidocaine to take affecShow moret on my gums, so that was painful. After that, my tongue and throat got so numb I felt like I could t breathe and got very panicky. All in all a very unpleasant experience.
Today Dr. Sean placed my implant after a 3 month healing from a bone graft. Dr. Sean explained the procedure and what to expect when healing. Both the doctor and the office staff are so friendly and competent. They made me feel veShow morery comfortable throughout my surgery. Dr. Sean even called me to ask how I was doing after the procedure. This is an excellent practice to take care of all your periodontal care.
Sean Ference, DDS, MDS, is a dentist and Periodontist at Capital Region Periodontics and Dental Implants in Albany, New York. Dr. Ference, or Dr. Sean, as his patients call him, takes pride in treating individuals of varying backgrounds and ages.
Dr. Sean completed his undergraduate education at Binghamton University in New York, studying political science and economics. Pursuing his interest in dentistry, he later completed dental training at the Stonybrook University School of Dental Medicine in New York. He was the recipient of the Shapell’s Married Couple scholarship and spent a year studying abroad in Israel with his wife after completing dental school.
Following his year abroad, Dr. Sean completed specialized training in periodontics at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. He simultaneously completed his master’s degree in dental science. After his specialty training, Dr. Sean moved back to Albany to join his father at Capital Region Periodontics.
Dr. Sean is board certified in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, and the American Dental Association. His dental interests include bone regeneration, implant dentistry, and soft tissue grafting.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Sean enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with his wife and three kids.

What an awesome experience— words I’d never use to describe an extraction, bone graft, and implant all in one astonishingly quick , painless, low-stress appointment. The staff helping Dr Sean Ference were all so kind and knowledgeable and Dr Sean himself quite honestly blew me away. I really feel well taken care of. Hated having to have the procedure but these super talented and kind individuals made it so bearable. Highly recommend!

Everyone was very polite. Everything was clearly explained to me. They also filed my insurance claim even though they don’t accept my insurance. I was very happy with the service.

The staff are phenomenal, the care they gave me was exceptional! I was very anxious about the procedure, and everyone was so kind and checked on me constantly. I especially was impressed that Dr. Ference called me the next day to see how I was doing, even though it was a holiday for him. I encourage anyone who has reservations about dental work to go to this practice.
