Sean Ference, DDS, MDS, is a dentist and Periodontist at Capital Region Periodontics and Dental Implants in Albany, New York. Dr. Ference, or Dr. Sean, as his patients call him, takes pride in treating individuals of varying backgrounds and ages.
Dr. Sean completed his undergraduate education at Binghamton University in New York, studying political science and economics. Pursuing his interest in dentistry, he later completed dental training at the Stonybrook University School of Dental Medicine in New York. He was the recipient of the Shapell’s Married Couple scholarship and spent a year studying abroad in Israel with his wife after completing dental school.
Following his year abroad, Dr. Sean completed specialized training in periodontics at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. He simultaneously completed his master’s degree in dental science. After his specialty training, Dr. Sean moved back to Albany to join his father at Capital Region Periodontics.
Dr. Sean is board certified in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, and the American Dental Association. His dental interests include bone regeneration, implant dentistry, and soft tissue grafting.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Sean enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with his wife and three kids.

Reed Ference, DDS, MDS, is a skilled dentist and Periodontist at Capital Region Periodontics and Dental Implants in Albany, New York. Treating patients of all ages, Dr. Ference is an expert in his field.
Dr. Ference has been practicing in the capital region since 1990. He studied chemistry as an undergraduate at Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. He then completed his dental training at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine in Stony Brook, New York. Dr. Ference later completed specialty training in periodontics at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut, where he was awarded an NIH research training grant. During this time, he also completed a master’s degree in immunology.
Following his specialty training, Dr. Ference had clinical and research responsibilities at the New York University College of Dentistry as the director of Undergraduate Periodontics. He served in this capacity for several years before relocating to Albany to practice periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Ference is committed to innovations in bone and tissue regeneration and has placed over 8,000 dental implants.
In his spare time, Dr. Ference enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with his wife and three sons.
Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Dr. Beniel Tamraz DDS, MS is a dedicated and caring periodontist.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, & Behavioral Sciences at UC Davis and later graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, Class of 2020, where he held multiple leadership roles, engaged in community service, and received the American Academy of Periodontology dental student award.
Dr. Tamraz furthered his specialization in periodontics at UCSF, earning a Master of Science while conducting research on platelet-rich fibrin in systemically compromised patients. He also contributed to research published in Clinical Advances in Periodontics, focusing on soft tissue techniques.
A proud member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association, Dr. Tamraz's expertise in periodontics encompasses managing periodontal disease, soft tissue gum rejuvenation, implantology, and bone regeneration. His dedication extends to providing dentistry to underserved communities through community service.
Outside of dentistry, he's a music composer and enjoys a range of outdoor activities, including climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, and snowboarding.
