About Skyler Nimmer, MSW, CSW

Skyler Nimmer, MSW, CSW, is a psychotherapist certified in Equine Facilitated Therapy with a strong clinical foundation in trauma-informed care. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky, completing specialized certificates in Clinical Social Work and Trauma-Responsive Practice (2025). She also holds dual undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Natural Horsemanship from the University of Montana Western (2017), which informs her holistic, strength-based approach to mental health treatment.

Skyler provides therapy to adults experiencing trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Her practice integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation to support healing, insight, personal growth, and long-term recovery. Skyler sees patients at DeNova’s offices in Lexington and Richmond, Kentucky.

With over 13 years of service as a Healthcare Specialist in the Army National Guard, Skyler brings a deep understanding of resilience, structure, and mind-body integration to her clinical work. She is especially passionate about creating safe, empowering spaces for growth and remains committed to expanding access to trauma-responsive, compassionate care.
