Dr. Fox and the team that he has developed to support his patients is phenomenal! I had total knee replacement surgery a little over 3 weeks ago and I have felt supported and informed throughout the entire process my Dr. Fox andShow more his team. I initially met with Dr. Fox on my first visit to Bluewater Orthopedics when he informed me that I was in need of a knee replacement. Dr. Fox was recommended to me by an industry professional after I had been to another orthopedic doctor who had told me there was not much he could do for me if steroid shots did not work. Dr. Fox fully described what he was seeing in my x-rays and the options that I could take to resolve my issue. He was transparent with all of the options and their impacts. After deciding to pursue surgery, Dr. Fox took the time to meet with me before my surgery to answer all of my question. Once surgery was schedule, I was assigned a nurse at the surgery center who talked me through all of the steps I would need to take to prepare for the surgery and to recover after surgery. She checked in with me multiple times before surgery and sent me materials explaining everything (even providing check lists of the many things I needed to remember to do ahead of time and on the day of surgery). She was also the nurse that worked with me on the day of surgery, which provide a nice bit of continuity and comfort. Additionally, his scheduling department helped me get all of the equipment I would need post-surgery and they were always available and quick to respond to my inquiries. The day of surgery ran seamlessly and all aspects of the day and surgery were orchestrated beautifully by Dr. Fox and his team at the Destin Surgery Center (a wonderful and calm center). Follow-up after surgery occurred from multiple fronts. Dr. Fox and the nurse checked in on me on multiple occasions. Dr. Fox was easy to get a hold of when I had questions about pain management as was his nurse. My post op appointment (2 weeks after surgery) was attended to by Dr. Fox’s nurse practitioner who was very knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging. I found that I needed to have the incision looked at after this appointment and Dr. Fox fit me in on the same day I contacted his office. When I thanked him for his support (on all fronts) and for fitting me in so quickly, he responded by telling me that we are in this together and that getting a new knee was a long-term commitment between us. This is a difficult and somewhat traumatic surgery. Dr. Fox and his team have built-in and thought through all of the supports that are needed to make a patient feel as comfortable as possible during the process and through recovery. I give Dr. Fox my highest recommendation! If I had to do this again, I can think of no other surgeon or facility that I would rather go through.
I picked him because he is in Dr Fox practice, one has very little time to get to know him and feel confident that I chose the right Dr to do my surgery. I needed to know that he was confident that he could fix my finger and needeShow mored to hear it from him. And he granted me by saying he was confident in his training and experience to fix my problem. And that he has done several of these procedures with successful outcomes. I look forward to showing him the success and am great full for the PT therapy he chose for me. I am working very hard to get things stretched out with my work I have to do at home. Thomas Fox, DO, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine and joint replacement specialist at Bluewater Orthopedics and sees patients at their locations in Niceville and Crestview, Florida. Dr. Fox started Bluewater Orthopedics in 1993 after finishing his sports medicine fellowship training at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He specializes in joint replacement, hip, knee, shoulder, sports medicine, direct anterior hip replacement, and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
After graduating from Saint Joseph’s University, Dr. Fox earned his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a rotating internship at Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital before finishing a general surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. Afterward, he pursued an orthopedic surgery residency at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.
In his free time, Dr. Fox enjoys attending football games (Go Saints!), boating, playing golf, and spending time with his four children and two grandchildren. He attends Shoreline Church in Destin, Florida. Dr. Fox is also the team physician for Niceville High School and Northwest Florida State College. He volunteers for Crossroads and Hope Free Medical Clinics. Dr. Fox is also a founding and active member of the Caduceus Society.

Dr. Fox is the BEST!!!! The office folks are AWESOME!!! They worked me in for an appointment right away after my fall. Everyone there is so caring and listens to you! Dr. Fox is an absolute Miracle doctor! I was in so much pain in my knee and could not stand on it. He drained it and asked me to stand up and I did without all the pain I had when I walked in his office!!! Absolutely Amazing!! Dr. Fox Knows what he is doing with No doubts whatsoever!! I can’t wait for him to do surgery on my knee because I feel 100% safe and confident under his care. He definitely has a natural God given talent!!!

Dr. Fox knows his stuff. Cortisone is good. Felt bad last nite went to bed at 8. Sweated alot last nite. Changed tee shirts twice. Woke up this morning with no pain in knee, back or shoulder. Curious to see how long this last.

Great service and care.
The Xray tech did an Xray of my knee when I arrived at Dr. Fox office and was brought to an examination room. Dr. Fox seemed happy to see me and reviewed the Xray with me from my knee replacement a year ago. He asked plenty of questions to gain insight to how my quality of life has been since the surgery. Dr. Fox reiterated what I should not with the new knee and how to take care of it and myself. He also made sure I was aware of what would be considered a sign that my knee may have issues. I appreciate his thoroughness and genuine caring attitude. Thanks Dr. Fox for always being there for me with my health in mind!!!

Dr. Fox has always made me feel comfortable when I’m talking about whatever problem I have, not to mention he responds immediately when I try to contact him. He’s the best. Ladies up front were also very helpful and friendly.
Dr Fox is awesome and professional. My ACL repair has gone great! The staff is fairly responsive when sending a Tcon as they have 2 days to get back to you. Dr Fox, however, gets back to you right away. I would recommend him to anyone.

It's a very nice hospital. I had the best surgeon you could ask for. Dr Daniel Buchan. The whole staff were awesome. I treat everybody like they would want to be treated. I would recommend anyone going to Twin Cities Hospital over any around near us just due to the courtesy of the workers and how good they are do their job thank you and I appreciate Dr .Buchan for doing my surgery before he went back home
