Dr Patel is a caring, compassionate and very smart neurologist who never rushes your time with her. She is happy to answer every question you bring to your appointment. She wants to hear everything about how your life is going andShow more if there is any new or different symptoms that she can help you with. Dr Patel also invites you and a guest to great educational seminars regarding latest MS drugs; where you can ask the drug reps in attendance locally any questions you may have. I am very blessed to have Dr Patel in charge of all my MS issues that we face together. She is a positive person who I look forward to seeing!
I have a huge medical history, including breast cancer/surgery/chemo/ reconstruction, plus 10+ spine surgeries (heading to another in 4 weeks). Unfortunately, I've had some poor care along the way, leading to mistrust & lack of cShow moreonfidence in Providers. I have NEVER felt that way about Dr Patel. I TRUST her. She goes over & above for me. I don't have words to describe how that makes me feel. I pray that she NEVER leaves this area, the thought of that happening is terrifying. Yashma Patel, MD, is an experienced neurologist specializing in multiple sclerosis (MS) management and treatment. Dr. Patel offers comprehensive and compassionate care for her patients at Valley Neurology in Spokane Valley, Washington. She also welcomes patients living with MS throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
Dr. Patel completed her neurology residency at SUNY Stony Brook in Suffolk County, New York. She continued her education by pursuing a two-year fellowship in neuroimmunology with a focus on adult and pediatric multiple sclerosis. She moved to the Spokane area in 2012, working for Rockwood Clinic as the director of their MS center before transitioning to private practice at Valley Neurology in 2020.
Dr. Patel's practice continues to focus on improving the lives of people living with MS through treatments designed to slow the progression of the disease, management of symptoms, and changes in lifestyle.
Dr. Patel and Valley Neurology are recognized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) as a Partner in MS Care. In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her toddler.

I was greeted by the very friendly receptionist and had less than a 4 minute wait for my appointment. The nursing assistant was very thorough with my pre doctor vist. Dr Patel was very focused on my current medical conditions and offered very detailed information and thoughts that were outside her medical field. I can always count on Dr. Patel to help solving some of the mystery of my issues.
