Hello! I'm Andrea, born and raised in the vibrant city of Tampa, Florida. As the oldest in a large family, early on, I was witness to the intricacies of mental health both within my family and in the broader community. This exposure instilled in me a deep-seated passion for understanding the human mind and helping individuals navigate their challenges.
Over the years, I've armed myself with academic and practical knowledge. I am proud to hold a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, supplemented with advanced training in integrated health care practices. I'm also a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Florida, and I provide coaching services both domestically and internationally. Currently, I'm broadening my horizons further with an MBA at the University of California, Los Angeles.
In 2020, I founded Dreavita. What began as a private practice quickly transformed into a beacon of hope and healing in the mental health space. My work in telehealth since 2021 has opened new avenues to reach and support those in need, which prompted me to step away from a telehealth directing position recently to focus solely on Dreavita.
The accolades I've received, including the Orlando Woman of the Year in 2021 and Los Angeles Woman of the Year in 2022, are testaments to our collective efforts at Dreavita. But beyond these awards, my vision for Dreavita remains clear: to offer progressive, inclusive wellness services that foster emotional healing and a deep sense of belonging.
At NuMind Psychiatry, we provide integrative and holistic mental healthcare to individuals and families in Seattle and Kennewick, Washington. Led by Jay Rivas, DNP, PMHNP-BC, our dedicated team of licensed psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and therapists works together to support you with compassion, expertise, and a personalized plan of care.
Our approach combines traditional psychiatry with evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to provide comprehensive care that extends beyond medication management. We understand that mental wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we take time to listen, assess your needs, and build a care plan that fits your life.
We also treat patients with schizophrenia, psychosis, dementia, and substance use disorders, and use behavioral therapy to help people succeed in attaining their weight loss goals. Our diagnostic assessments help us better understand what you’re going through so we can guide you toward the most effective solutions.
The NuMind team believes therapy plays a crucial role in healing. That’s why we emphasize the therapeutic relationship, helping you work through emotional and psychological challenges with clarity and confidence. You can access care in person or through secure virtual visits, giving you the flexibility to get help when and where you need it most.
Your mental health journey matters to us. Whether you’re taking the first step or continuing your path toward wellness, we’re here to walk alongside you. Reach out today and discover how NuMind Psychiatry can help you move toward a more balanced, joyful, and fulfilling life. Call your nearest office or book an appointment online.
I am an advanced practice nurse with over fifteen years experience in internal medicine, behavioral health, emergency medicine, and substance use treatment. I have worked in a variety of settings including longterm care, in hospitals, and in clinics. What I enjoy most about working in health care is being a part of a client's journey to improve both their physical and mental health.
Through active listening and a strength-based approach, we can work together on defining your goals and creating a treatment plan that suits your unique needs. Treatment plans can include medications and other holistic interventions such as movement, adding foods (no diets), specific therapy recommendations, or mindfulness-based techniques. I use interventions that are science-based and supported by evidence.
I have over 8 years experience in treating people with addiction, most of whom had other mental health diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD with a focus on women-identifying individuals. Specific therapeutic modalities I use include motivational interviewing and person-centered therapy with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, but I believe the most powerful part of psychiatric treatment is the relationship we build. In our time together, you will be seen as a whole person, someone who has innate strength amidst the challenges you face.

I graduated from University of Washington school of nursing focused on Psychiatric disabilities and rehabilitation. I work in a pleasing therapeutic environment with a collaborative multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Licensed Counselors. As a team we are capable of meeting the diverse needs of our treatment population. I am happy to provide pharmacotherapy as an adjunct service to patients working with other counselors or therapists in the community. New patients are always challenging and exciting for me.
