Dr. Iofin is a board-certified psychiatrist who has over 40 years of experience in the field of psychiatry and has been recognized by the Superior Court of New Jersey as an Expert in Psychiatry for the past 20 years. During his career, he has worked with both adults and children suffering from all different types of mental health issues and disorders, however, his main interest and focus is helping patients suffering from Adult ADHD, Adult ADD, and Anxiety Disorders. He takes great pride in keeping abreast of the research available for ADHD disorders and has helped many ADHD sufferers start living productive and less stressful lives, enhancing their mental health to a more positive state of well-being.

At Advanced Psychiatric Care, psychiatrist Alexander Iofin, MD, provides comprehensive mental health care to adults in Neptune, New Jersey as well as Toms River, New Jersey and throughout the state of New Jersey.
Dr. Iofin takes a patient-centered approach to psychiatric care. Instead of prescribing “one-size-fits-all” solutions, he really gets to know his patients.
Dr. Iofin tries to understand each individual's environment. He gathers information about their stressors, home life, work situation, support network, and treatment goals to establish personalized care plans, help reduce uncomfortable symptoms and strives to improve the quality of life for his patients.
My core approach to care begins with the unique story each patient needs to tell. When you arrive there is a comfortable waiting room with plants and music playing. Treatment with me is based on a collaborative effort between me and my patients. I begin each relationship with a comprehensive two hour psychiatric evaluation, that includes a full medical history as well. I also focus on the importance of nutrition and healthy eating during that evaluation. At the end of the consultation, there is open discussion about treatment options. If a patient has an existing therapist, a release form is signed so there can be ongoing confidential communication between providers. At all times patient confidentiality is held sacred and absolutely necessary for successful treatment. During my time in practice I have always been a staunch advocate for my patients, particularly in the area of insurance denials. I am equally passionate about patient education.

Dr. Wu is a board-certified neurologist with fellowship-trained in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Yale University and University of Florida. She received neurology residency training at Albany Medical College, where she obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Neurosciences. She previously served as the director of epilepsy program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for 8 years. Since starting practice in 2003, she has built up substantial experiences in diagnosis and treating patients with seizure disorders, mood disorder, insomnia and ADHD etc.
