I am a Board certified, doctorally prepared, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialized in understanding both the biological and psychological factors of human emotions. I provide psychotherapeutic interventions and psychiatric medication management for adult patients who decide that psychiatric medications are helpful.
Many people suffer from mental health issues at some point in their lives. From depression to anxiety, to impulsivity and insomnia, we can likely all find some form of mental imbalance or mental struggle we could use some help with.
I take the time to understand what my patients need and through a collaborative approach create a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs. I believe strongly in the mind body spirit connection and treat clients with a holistic approach.
Having practiced as a Primary Care Provider for nearly 10 years, I have seen first hand how mental health impacts a person's overall ability to function. That is the reason I pursued additional education and am now dually board certified in both Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. It is the most fulfilling aspect of my practice to be able to help someone manage the symptoms that are causing them distress and regain balance in their life. I look forward to meeting you and helping you get back on the path you belong.
“I was referred to Lisa by my PCP to manage my depression/anxiety medication in 2020. Lisa is consistently outstanding in that she is always on time for her appointments, her office has a calm vibe, and it is immaculately clean. She has patience and excellent listening skills. Lisa is genuinely invested in seeing her patients feel better, and that is without question. She is a Gem.”

Hi there, I’m Lamara, a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority. I have over 10 years of experience in providing mental health care to adults, teens, and children in a variety of settings.
I currently work with adults and young adults struggling with a multitude of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma. Influenced by training as both a social worker and a nurse practitioner, I tailor my treatment to each individual person. I partner with my clients to optimize their overall wellness because I have a passion for providing inclusive care and promoting patient empowerment.
More specifically, I utilize a strengths-based and whole person approach which assumes that all individuals have an inner resilience that can be utilized to live the life they want to live. I practice with the belief that all people have this innate capacity and fundamental desire for healing.
“Larama has helped me tremendously, I only wish I could rate her higher than 5 stars. She listens to every word you speak and literally on the fly digresses them in medical terms. I cannot recommend any psychiatrist higher.”
I went into psychiatry to improve access to considerate, kind, and evidence-based mental healthcare. Through my work in community health centers I have partnered with hundreds of patients to be empowered and informed consumers of healthcare. In those settings, I have worked with people from all walks of life; I have had training in providing care to gender diverse populations, people with addictions, pregnant and nursing people, as well as caring for severe mental illness. I continually seek new information to be sure my patients receive appropriate care in a timely manner.
Although the care I provide is rooted in current medical knowledge, my relationship to patients is informed by the nursing model. This emphasizes caring for the whole person rather than a narrow “problem” focus. I seek to understand my patients’ lives in order to develop treatment plans that realistically align with their goals.
“I always feel seen and heard during my visits. I know that I'm talking to someone who truly cares and who is educated in her field. I would recommend her to anyone who asks.”
