I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. My philosophy is an integrative approach in treating the whole person -- including the biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual factors. I emphasize education so you feel empowered and understand why medication may be necessary, what the medication is, and why you are taking it. While medications are an important part of treatment, they are often times not the long-term solution. We can carefully weigh the potential benefits and risks to find the best option for you.
My primary goal is to make sure that I provide the best care to my patients. In some cases, the limitations of outpatient treatment do not allow the ability to provide the level of care that I think you deserve. I can provide feedback, temporary services, and assistance with referral options.

If you or someone you know is facing a similar struggle, I highly recommend Michael and his team.”
I went into psychiatry to improve access to considerate, kind, and evidence-based mental healthcare. Through my work in community health centers I have partnered with hundreds of patients to be empowered and informed consumers of healthcare. In those settings, I have worked with people from all walks of life; I have had training in providing care to gender diverse populations, people with addictions, pregnant and nursing people, as well as caring for severe mental illness. I continually seek new information to be sure my patients receive appropriate care in a timely manner.
Although the care I provide is rooted in current medical knowledge, my relationship to patients is informed by the nursing model. This emphasizes caring for the whole person rather than a narrow “problem” focus. I seek to understand my patients’ lives in order to develop treatment plans that realistically align with their goals.
