Laura J. Sambrookes-McQuade, SLPD, CCC-SLP, (she/her) graduated with her Doctor of Speech Language Pathology degree from Northwestern University in March 2021 and founded APTIH in November 2021. Dr. Sambrookes’ doctoral work focused on investigating which teaching strategies best support the health profession education student’s ability to deliver “bad news” to caregivers and their support network.
Dr. Sambrookes specializes in speech language and feeding for children aged birth to five. Her interest areas include: pediatric speech language disorders, late talkers, apraxia, early intervention, autism (treatment and diagnosis), sensory motor feeding disorders as well as swallowing and feeding disorders in infancy. Her practice approach is hallmarked by empathy and mindfulness practices.
Personally, Dr. Sambrookes enjoys long distance running, yoga, reading, journaling, philanthropy, and enjoying time outside with her husband, four children, and two dogs.

Mike Cole M.S. CCC-SLP earned his Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Illinois State University in 2004. Currently, Mike is president of Use Your Words, P.C., private clinical practice specializing in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Mike provides AAC evaluation and treatment for individuals with autism, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders, cerebral palsy, and ALS. Mike presents at local, national, and international conferences and webinars related to AAC. He also provides consultation and training to schools and families related to AAC implementation. Mike has prior experience as a speech-language pathologist in the school setting serving those with complex communication needs. He also has experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist in the schools focusing on AAC evaluation, implementation, and staff training. Anne has over 30 years of experience as a Pediatric Speech - Language Pathologist. Anne earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Speech Pathology at Marquette University.

She is highly qualified and a leader in her field.
Dr. Grosvenor completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois, and her doctorate in infant and early childhood development at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California.
Dr. Grosvenor is also a credentialed DIRFloortime® provider. She has more than 10 years of experience teaching courses through the International Council on Development and Learning (ICDL), Profectum, and the Erikson Institute.
