Through hard work and dedication, Dr. Rios graduated from the University of St. Thomas as a Biology major with a minor in Theology. Dr. Rios’ achievements in college earned her acceptance into medical school at the University of Texas at Houston. It was during her medical school rotations that she discovered that her true calling was in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After graduation, she chose to pursue a residency position in Amarillo, Texas at Texas Tech. This position was most attractive to Dr. Rios because it was a position where she could do the most good, primarily attending to the underprivileged community of north Texas. During her residency, she received various awards such as Intern of the Year, Best Resident Teacher and Residents Choice Award – a peer-elected award given to the most outstanding physician. She also placed first at the 2010 Resident Research Day and had an article published in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Although Dr. Rios enjoyed her time in Amarillo she and her husband were anxious to return home to be near family in Houston.
Dr. Rios now resides in Rosenberg, TX where she has continued her lifelong dedication at the Center for Women’s Health. Dr. Danilo Herrera completed earned his medical degree from the University of Costa Rica School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Dr. Herrera followed his father's footsteps as he became a seasoned gynecologist.
Dr. Rezk is fellowship-trained in minimally-invasive as well as complex gynecologic surgery and has done hundreds of robotic procedures. He graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine with distinction in 1995 and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, before pursuing a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Rezk completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, followed by a Pelvic Reconstruction Research Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Megan Bowen, DO, FACS is a new general surgeon to Southwest Surgical Associates who will be serving the communities of Memorial City, Cypress, and Katy, Texas, as well as the surrounding areas. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Bowen graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish. She followed that with a Masters of Biomedical Science from Barry University in Florida. She then was commissioned in the United States Army after being awarded the Health Professions Scholarship to complete medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Bowen completed her surgery internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. She excelled in her training there and was selected to stay on for an additional year as a staff general surgeon and resident educator.
In 2015, Dr. Bowen was stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center to serve as general surgeon and resident educator. She also became an assistant professor of surgery for the Uniformed Services School of Medicine. She was deployed three times to Kuwait and Syria where she provided emergent and urgent surgical care to wounded soldiers, coalition forces and local nationals. She continues her service to our country through the U.S Army reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Early in his career, Dr. Farrow performed research as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, before joining Southwest Surgical Associates in 2009. He now enjoys focusing on providing the best care to his patients, specializing in hernia repair and gastrointestinal surgery, and performs laparoscopic procedures to reduce pain and recovery time.
He has also published numerous scientific articles and book chapters on various topics. Dr. Farrow is a fellow, diplomat, and member of multiple medical associations, including the American Board of Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Hernia Society.
