Peter Saitta, DO, is a board-certified dermatologist at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Saitta treats adult and pediatric patients at SINY’s® three offices, in New York City’s West Village and the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
After earning a bachelor of arts degree from New York University in New York City, Dr. Saitta received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. He then completed his residency at Oakwood Seaway Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, in affiliation with Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. While in residency, Dr. Saitta served as chief resident and earned numerous national awards for academic excellence and leadership.
Dr. Saitta is an internationally recognized lecturer and published author on dermatology topics such as hair loss, acne, and the psychological effects of skin diseases. He trained with one of the most highly regarded acne experts in the world and also served as clinical research director on crucial studies related to acne, which led to the development of cutting-edge acne-treatment technologies that are now available to SINY® patients.
Dr. Saitta is an active member of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and also serves as a national committee member for the dermatology resident in-service examination. Although he provides comprehensive dermatology treatment for all of his adult and pediatric patients, his special areas of expertise include skin cancer screening and treatment, hair loss, acne, and rashes of the hand, face, and scalp.
Allison Jaekle is a Board Certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Allison was born and raised locally on Long Island. She attended Binghamton University for her undergraduate degree in History with a concentration in Public Health. She then attended Touro College for a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Master in Physician Assistant Studies, where she received the Leadership, Academic, and Clinical Achievement awards upon graduation.
She is currently an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Sherry H. Hsiung, MD, is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Hsiung also practices general and cosmetic dermatology at SINY’s® three New York City–area offices, in the city’s West Village and in the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Hsiung earned undergraduate degrees in both biology and chemical engineering, graduating with honors. While earning her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Philadelphia, she was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her residency in dermatology at New York University School of Medicine in New York City, serving as chief resident.
Dr. Hsiung retains active memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and she has lectured on dermatology topics at local and national conferences. As a crucial part of the SINY® medical team, Dr. Hsiung specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a surgical technique used to treat skin cancer, focused on removing all of the cancer cells while preserving the healthy tissue in sensitive areas such as the face, hands, feet or genitals. She completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs surgery with Dr. Perry Robins at NYU, and she is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Hsiung’s surgical expertise ranges from the simplest excisions to the most extensive skin cancer surgeries and repairs.
Sydney Liang, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on delivering compassionate, high quality, and patient-centered care. She has a special interest in the prevention and surgical management of skin cancers, the treatment of acne and acne scarring, rosacea, psoriasis, cosmetic injectables, and laser treatments and resurfacing.
With a strong educational background and rigorous training, Dr. Liang completed her undergraduate degrees in cell biology, genetics, and human development at the University of Maryland, earning early acceptance to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society as a Junior and graduating with the highest honors of summa cum laude. While earning her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Liang was elected as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated top of her medical school class. She then completed her residency in dermatology at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University Langone Health. Dr. Ezra Hazan is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. He graduated with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hazan went on to do an internship in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. There he gained extensive knowledge and experience in procedural dermatology, including surgery of the skin as well as advanced cosmetic procedures like injectables, lasers and light based technologies.
Dr. Hazan is on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he helps train dermatology residents, and at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. He has published many academic journal articles and authored multiple textbook chapters on various topics in the field of dermatology. Dr. Hazan is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Sarah Yagerman is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. She practices medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology in NYC and has a special interest in dermatologic oncology. A skilled, caring practitioner, she believes in an individualized and holistic approach to each patient and their skin. She enjoys all aspects of dermatology. She then completed a year of dedicated dermatologic surgery research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
After medical school, she moved downtown to complete an intensive Internal Medicine intern year at NYU Langone Health, which was followed by her 3-year dermatology residency at NYU’s prestigious Ronald O. Perelman Department of dermatology. She served as Chief resident in her final residency year and continued to develop a passion for dermatology and research. She has over 20 peer-reviewed publications in cosmetic and dermatologic surgery.
She continued her training by completing an ACGME accredited fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at Skin Laser and Surgery Specialists of NY and NJ. A lifelong learner and educator, Dr. Yagerman is proud to return to NYU to serve as Voluntary Faculty, where she volunteers weekly with residents, teaching surgical skills and overseeing the clinic.

Sergey Petrosian DO is a board-certified dermatologist at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Petrosian treats adult and pediatric patients at three of SINY’s® offices, in the Forest Hills area of Queens as well as the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
He is a native of New York City who grew up in Queens and attended Brooklyn Technical High School. After earning a bachelor of science degree from SUNY Stony Brook University, Dr. Petrosian received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM/NYITCOM) in Westbury, New York. He then completed his residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York in affiliation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Petrosian attended, presented and lectured at many conferences as a resident, he also received many scholastic accolades in that time. During his residency Dr. Petrosian consistently scored amongst the top percentile in the nation on in-service examinations. He trained with and received mentorship from various experts in many fields of dermatology who practice here in New York City. His training in New York City gave him exposure to a very large and diverse patient population.

After earning his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Brancaccio completed an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He then completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Brancaccio is board-certified in dermatology, and he is a clinical professor at New York University School of Medicine in New York City. When he’s not tending to patients at SINY® or teaching future dermatologists, he lectures on dermatology-related topics and has authored more than 40 scholarly publications, primarily on the subject of skin allergies.
Currently serving on the board of directors of the American Contact Dermatitis Society and the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, Dr. Brancaccio has also served as president of the New York Dermatologic Society, the Bay Ridge Medical Society, and the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York, He maintains active memberships in those professional organizations as well as the American Academy of Dermatology and the Annenberg Circle Committee for the Dermatology Foundation, which supports vital dermatology research. In addition, he is an honorary member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology and the Canadian Dermatology Association.

Shirley Xu, DNP, FNP-BC is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her Master’s degree and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Columbia University.

Dr. Sheena Desai is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at Northwell Health, where she served as Cosmetic Chief Resident. In addition to her MD, Dr. Desai holds an MBA from the Heller School at Brandeis University, providing her with a unique understanding of both patient care and healthcare systems.

Eyal Levit, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Levit Dermatology in the Manhattan Beach area of Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Levit completed his residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, now New York Presbyterian Hospital, in 1999. In recognition of his exceptional skill, he received additional fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Here, he studied rigorously in Mohs, laser, and dermatologic surgery.
Following his surgical fellowship, Dr. Levit completed a two-year fellowship in cosmetic dermatology. He presented nationally and internationally through his studies on laser resurfacing, liposuction, fat injections, facelifts, blepharoplasty, acne therapy, and scar revisions.
His last international presentation was in Spain in June of 2016, where he was a keynote speaker during the World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology. He presented his inventions in cutting-edge acne therapy and blepharoplasty and described his nonsurgical nose and facial rejuvenation techniques.

Dr. Eyal Levit has served for 15 years as the director of Cosmetic and dermatologic surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital, Mount Sinai medical center, and received the distinguished award for best teacher of the year award for his contribution in that field.
Dr. Levit is highly recognized as an expert in the cosmetic surgery field and was selected by the ASDS (American Society of Dermatologic Surgery) as a fellowship training center for other board-certified dermatologists who want to take an additional year to improve and learn cutting-edge techniques for cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Levit performs hundreds of skin cancer surgeries a year and brings his vast dermatologic knowledge and experience of cosmetic surgery into his patient medical and cosmetic reconstruction and vis versa, his vast suturing experience techniques to his cosmetic surgeries, helping his patients feel and look better.
Dr. Levit is the primary author and creator of the ABC rules to diagnose nail melanoma published by the JAAD in 2000.
Outside of his professional career he has also authored books for both adults and children: “A Lost Art” where he describes his experience in dermatology in an educational amusing and inspiring way to the lay public. In his most recent book “The King’s Race” his vivid imagination and life experience uses animals to help heal, inspire, and improve hope and acceptance in our stereotype-riddled society. Among his hobbies, he has written songs (both lyrics & music) performing some of them in children's charity and other regional settings.
