Sook Hyun, is a Howard County local and certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She worked as a registered nurse on an Internal Medicine unit for seven years at Johns Hopkins Hospital before obtaining an advanced practice degree. While at Johns Hopkins, she was intrigued by treating patients with rare dermatological conditions. As a lifelong learner committed to more autonomy, she attended George Washington University to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing. She is excited to be able to focus and treat the patient as a whole independently.
Sook is a compassionate provider who specializes in serving patients of all ages, from infants to seniors. At a young age, Sook knew dermatology was her passion when she dealt with acne and her family members struggled with psoriasis. Her family combined medicine and alternative medicine to maintain those conditions.
As a nurse practitioner in dermatology and aesthetics, her goal is to provide the best quality care and to ensure the patients look and feel confident in their skin. She emphasizes promoting healthy skin, naturopathic approaches, and involving patients in their own care. She is excited to work with such a diverse team and community to assess, treat, and educate on various dermatologic conditions.
When she is not in the office, she likes to travel, cook, eat good food, and spend time with her family and friends.
