Suresh Kumar Misra, MD, is the newest member of Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates, P.A., seeing patients from the offices in Bowie and Greenbelt, Maryland. He identifies with the pronouns he/his and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Inspired by his grandfather’s dedication to medicine in India, Dr. Misra is passionate about listening to his patients with the goal of improving their health and quality of life. He strives to be a knowledgeable and accessible expert resource, both to his patients and to the community he serves.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Tulane University, Dr. Misra received a Doctorate of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. He continued his training at Temple University Hospital to provide much-needed quality care to the economically distressed area of North Philadelphia.
After obtaining his Internal Medicine Board Certification, Dr. Misra practiced as an internist for six years. The highlight of his post-graduate career was serving the diverse community of Astoria, Queens, as an ICU hospitalist and completing a one-year Hepatitis Fellowship at the Institute of Liver Medicine in the Mount Sinai Health System. The fellowship focused on hepatitis and general hepatology. Dr. Misra’s practice in New York inspired him to pursue a Gastroenterology Fellowship, which he completed at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
His research has included the pulmonary complications of cirrhosis and the predictors of liver cancer. He has published multiple reviews on Hepatitis C and presented the results at national conferences.
Dr. Misra values diversity, equality, integrity, and caring for others. He is currently taking new patients and is excited to serve the community of Annapolis and the Maryland area.

Prashanth Rao, MD, FACC, is a cardiologist board-certified in internal medicine. He diagnoses and treats various conditions at Capitol Cardiology Associates in Camp Springs, Lanham, and Laurel, Maryland.
Dr. Rao grew up in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating, he obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Rao completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He then furthered his training with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, focusing on echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging.

Dawn Christopher, MD, is a double board-certified cardiovascular specialist and internal medicine specialist at Capitol Cardiology Associates. From three offices in Camp Springs, Lanham, and Laurel, Maryland, Dr. Christopher provides all her patients with expert care.
She completed her medical training at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., in 2006. Next, she fulfilled her internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark.
Dr. Christopher went on to complete her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2013. She has been practicing in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas since 2016 and is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
Dr. Christopher has a clinical interest in coronary artery disease, women’s cardiac health issues, clinical heart failure, and device therapies for heart failure. Dabo Xu, MD, is a board-certified physician in gastroenterology, hepatology, and internal medicine at the Gastro Center of Maryland, with locations in Annapolis, Columbia, Olney, Riverdale, Timonium and Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Mohit Rastogi, MD, FACC, is board-certified in Electrophysiology. He works with patients at Capitol Cardiology Associates in Lanham, Camp Springs and Largo, Maryland.
Dr. Rastogi, a native of the state of Maryland, is a specialist in cardiology and electrophysiology. He graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and trained in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
