Nisharahmed Kherada, MD, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI, is board certified in internal medicine, clinical hypertension, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular interpretation. Dr. Kherada currently serves as the Section Chief of Cardiology for Memorial Hospital Pembroke.

Dr. Kherada received his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College (Gujarat University) in India and later conducted basic science cardiovascular research at The Ohio State University. He then moved to the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas to complete his residency in internal medicine. He conducted advanced cardiovascular research at Icahn School of Medicine in New York along with a specialized fellowship in clinical hypertension. He then proceeded to complete his fellowship in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, where he also served as chief cardiology fellow.

Dr. Kherada performs cardiac coronary artery angioplasty and stenting especially via an advanced low-risk radial artery approach from the arm. He also performs lower extremity Peripheral arterial angioplasty/stenting and varicose vein laser ablation. Additionally, Dr. Kherada has specialized skills in Structural Heart interventions including Valvuloplasty and TAVR (non-surgical replacement of narrow aortic valve). Mitchell B. Cohen, MD, FACC, has been triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and electrophysiology. A founding member and the former CEO of Pinnacle Healthcare System, he serves patients at the practice’s office in Pembroke Pines, Florida. 

Dr. Cohen received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Upon graduating, he completed his medical internship, residency, and cardiology fellowship at North Shore University Hospital-Cornell University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Center in New York. Dr. Cohen then went on to complete his electrophysiology fellowship at the Jackson Memorial Hospital University of Miami in Florida.

Zael Vazquez, MD, is board-certified in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine. He is proud to provide state-of-the-art medical care to the North and West Broward communities at Pulmonary Care Clinics in Cooper City, Florida. 

Dr. Vazquez completed a residency in internal medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he received special training in the management of patients with complex pulmonary problems such as pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung diseases, and COPD.

He went on to pursue an advanced fellowship in thoracic transplantation at Temple University. He currently serves as the Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Memorial Hospital Pembroke and Chief of Respiratory Services at Select Specialty Hospital.

I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to work in the healthcare field for many years. Before I attended medical school, I had a previous career in respiratory therapy (RT) which I started in 1999. I thoroughly enjoyed working as an RT but decided to further my education in order to be more involved in patient care. I received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005. I obtained my medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2013. After graduating, I continued my medical training at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) where I completed a residency program in Family Medicine in 2018. I became board certified in Family Medicine the same year. After residency, I continued working for TBHC by dividing my time working as a physician in an outpatient clinic and working at a nursing and rehabilitation facility where I served as medical director. I gained more clinical experience working at an outpatient facility affiliated with the University Health System in San Antonio but left my home state of Texas in order to move to my new home in Miami.

My love outside of medicine is my family. I have two little girls, a wonderful family in Texas, and an amazing family here in Miami that I have gained through my wonderful husband. Rene A. Reyes, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has more than 20 years of clinical experience. Before attending medical school, Dr. Reyes earned a bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida. He went on to earn his Medical Degree from the Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, and was also formally involved in research at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at New York University Downtown Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Reyes practices preventative healthcare and offers proactive, attentive outpatientcare. He particularly enjoys developing relationships with his patients and collaborating with them on how best to optimize and maintain their health and prevent disease. Matthew Teltser, MD, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist with over 20 years of experience. His expertise includes diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, lipidology, nuclear cardiology, and preventive cardiology. Dr.Teltser serves patients at AssociatesMD in Davie, Florida. 

His success with patients stems from his philosophy that patients must be active partners in their treatment. An open dialogue allows his patients to make informed decisions with a clearly defined joint plan.

A native of New Jersey, Dr. Teltser graduated with honors from Rutgers University in New Brunswick and earned the "Rutgers Scholar" title through a senior research project at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, where he also completed medical school. 

After graduating, Dr. Teltser moved to Pennsylvania and became board-certified in internal medicine after training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During his fourth year at MCP, Dr. Teltser was an internal medicine instructor while completing a clinical pharmacology fellowship. He continued his journey southward and completed his training in cardiology at the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville.

In addition to his board certification in cardiology, he is a board-certified lipidologist (specialist in cholesterol disorders). He is also board-certified in nuclear cardiology, heart imaging techniques using radioisotopes (radioactive tracers). He is strongly interested in preventive cardiology and is a member of the ASPC (American Society of Preventive Cardiology).

As the medical director of A&R Research, Dr. Teltser supervises several medical research studies utilizing the latest drugs for treating cholesterol, hypertension, gout, COPD, and diabetes. He is dedicated to finding the highest level of care for his patients.

Andrea Bretal, MD, is the medical director at Weston Medical Health & Wellness in Weston, Florida. She has more than 20 years of experience as a board-certified physician in internal medicine. She became a Civil Surgeon in May 2020.

Originally from Argentina, Dr. Bretal earned her degree from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in Rosario, Argentina. She completed residencies in internal medicine at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and at the Western Reserve Hospital with Northeast Ohio Medical University in Youngstown, Ohio.

Her interest in obesity medicine began with her own weight struggles. When traditional strategies didn’t result in lasting weight loss, she began exploring the science behind weight. 

Today, she uses holistic, integrative approaches to weight loss, helping each patient balance their body, mind, and soul. Dr. Bretal proudly partners with other holistic professionals to give her patients the complete support they need for success.

Melinda Exume, MD, is an experienced primary care physician. She treats patients at AssociatesMD from their Margate, Florida, location. 

Dr. Exume completed her Bachelor of Science in biology and later earned her medical degree at the University of Florida, College of Medicine, in Gainesville, where she graduated with honors in research. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Florida Health (UF Health) in Jacksonville, where she honed her clinical skills. After completing her residency, she worked as a hospitalist, efficiently and effectively managing acute care patients. 

Advent Health awarded Dr. Exume “Excellence in Patient Satisfaction, Inpatient Top Performing Hospitalist” in 2020. In 2022, she transitioned to outpatient work with AMD to focus on a more holistic and preventative approach to medicine.

Dr. Exume is of Haitian descent and is fluent in Haitian Creole. Serving on medical mission trips to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Peru laid the groundwork for her acquisition of Spanish as a third language. She believes that communication is the most important aspect of patient care and, therefore, actively strives to continue improving her language and communication skills.

Dr. Exume’s hobbies include exploring nature and working on various creative endeavors. She enjoys daily walks, beach-going, candle-making, and writing.
