Chirag Shah, MD, is a medical oncology and hematology specialist at Advanced Cancer Care of New Jersey, PC. Dr. Shah provides personalized, state-of-the-art cancer care to residents in Toms River, New Jersey.
Dr. Shah attended M. P. Shah Medical College in Gujarat, India, completing his medical degree in 1992. He then pursued post-graduate training in internal medicine at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he served as chief resident.
After completing his residency, he joined an oncology and hematology fellowship program at the State University of New York (SUNY)’s Upstate Medical University and later joined the faculty as an assistant professor.
Dr. Shah has published in numerous peer-review journals and was the recipient of a lung cancer research grant. In addition, he was a principal investigator for many clinical trials.
In 2010, Dr. Shah decided to move to New Jersey to be closer to his loved ones. He joined the private practice of Anil R Ponnambalam MD, PC, and has worked with him since 2010.
