Dr. Austin was born and raised in Connecticut. She moved to Northern Virginia to escape the cold winters and be closer to family. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, running both full and half marathons, playing tennis, and reading.

He then went on to earn his Masters in Physicians Assistant studies in 2007.
