Tyler Nelson, DDS, is thrilled to practice oral surgery at Ramona Dental Specialists in Ramona, California! Although his life’s journeys have taken him far from home, he is grateful to be back.
Dr. Nelson received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University. During his undergraduate education, he took a “career exploration” class, which required him to observe numerous professions. When he observed an oral surgeon in action, he found his passion and made up his mind rather quickly, that this was the career path for him. He loves what he does every day.
During dental school at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, Dr. Nelson served as class president each year, and as Student Body President during his senior year. He graduated with high honors and was accepted into the 4-year oral and maxillofacial surgery program at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.
During his residency, Dr. Nelson was trained in IV sedation, dental implants, the removal of problematic teeth, facial trauma, and orthognathic (jaw repositioning) surgery. He also presented research on jaw tumors and imaging modalities for the diagnosis of mandibular fractures.
Dr. Tyler Nelson is happily married to his college sweetheart, Natalie. Together, they are proud parents of six children. Beyond spending time with his family, Dr. Nelson enjoys running, biking, and snowboarding.

Dr. Peri grew up in Los Angeles and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, San Diego. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. Dr. Peri then continued his studies and obtained his Medical Degree (MD) at Stony Brook University School of Medicine, where he further expanded his surgical and medical training. Dr. Peri completed his 6-year surgical residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Stony Brook University and Northwell-Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he also completed a 1-year general surgery internship.

He currently holds the volunteering teaching position as a clinical assistant professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the LAC / USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
His educational background is very diverse. His formative years were spent under the rigorous British school system in Hong Kong. This was followed by an undergraduate and graduate education in Canada. Dr. Woo then graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry as the class valedictorian in 2002 with multiple awards and honors. He then entered a General Surgery internship at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA, and a full residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California.
