He was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and moved to Dallas, Texas, at the age of 17. Growing up, Dr. Volpini had a strong passion for sports, especially soccer. He graduated from North Mesquite High School, where he played on the varsity soccer team during his junior and senior years. Dr. Volpini then went on to attend the University of North Texas and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biology.
Dr. Volpini earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Volpini chose to stay in San Antonio, where he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency. He completed his training with a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship. He was under the guidance of the renowned doctors Felix H. Dovie McVean obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition of Allied Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in May of 1991. Ms. McVean earned her Masters of Science in Food Nutrition and Management at the University of Central Oklahoma in July of 1992 then went on to perform her Physician Assistant Preceptorship at Lutheran College of Health Professionals in Fort Wayne, Indiana between August 1995 and August 1997, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant in August of 1997.
Ms. McVean has performed a variety of skills as a Physician’s Assistant over the last 22 years. She has triaged, diagnosed and treated illnesses and injuries from the neighborhood urgent care all the way to the emergency room. She has managed several clinical staff’s for 2 separate Orthopedic Clinics. She has performed as a first assistant in the operating room since 2001.
Dovie has been working as a Physician’s Assistant to Dr. Robert Myles since 2001.
