Orthopaedic surgeon Anthony S. Melillo, MD, is the founder of Bay Oaks Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, located in Houston, Texas since 2000. He is one of several surgeons in the Clear Lake area performing MAKO robotic surgery for partial knee resurfacing, total knee and total hip replacements. Dr. Melillo earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at New Mexico State University, and attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He has trained at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Mississippi Sports Medicine.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Stautberg completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. During his residency, he received numerous awards, including the ‘Orthopedic In-Training Master Award’ for the highest raw score as a chief resident, the ‘Resident Excellence in Research’ award, and the ‘Golden Bone Award’ for his role in the education of medical students as a junior resident.

After residency, Dr. Stautberg completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, a former president of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He also trained with Dr. Sandra Klein and Dr. Jeremy McCormick, both involved in education, research, and equality within orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Stautberg has multiple published articles, most recently in the Journal of Arthroscopy. Further, he has had articles featured in ‘AAOS Now’, a national publication, where he focused on healthcare advocacy for orthopedic surgery patients and education of surgeons on policy.

Ugo Ihekweazu, MD, (pronounced e-heck-wa-zoo) is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon located in Houston, Texas.  Dr. Ihekweazu, has quickly emerged as an expert in the field of hip and knee replacement surgery and serves on national leadership committees with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.  Locally, Dr. Ihekweazu has been recognized by his peers as a ‘Top Doctor’ in Houstonia Magazine and Texas Monthly. He has devoted his career to leading patients back to their active lifestyles through evidence-based treatments and meticulous surgical technique. 

Dr. Ihekweazu was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After a state-championship basketball career at Westbury Christian, Dr. Ihekweazu continued his athletic and academic pursuits at Cornell University, where he completed both undergraduate and medical school training. As a medical student, he was recognized for his mastery of anatomy with the Gustave J. Noback Memorial award for advanced study and teaching in the field of anatomy.

Following medical school, Dr. Ihekweazu returned home to Houston and completed an orthopedic surgery residency program at Baylor College of Medicine. Throughout his residency, he was exposed to care in a variety of settings including Ben Taub General Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, the Shriners Hospital for Children, the Baylor-St. Luke’s Medical Center and Houston Methodist Hospital. In addition to these experiences, Dr. Ihekweazu completed a short-term AO Trauma Fellowship at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève in Geneva, Switzerland. 

After his residency training, he pursued a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Surgery at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. During his fellowship, Dr. Ihekweazu was further trained in a variety of advanced joint replacement techniques, including, anterior and posterior hip replacements, hip resurfacing, total and partial knee replacements, robotic-assisted surgery and revision joint replacement surgery.  

Dr. Ihekweazu is devoted to the local community and enjoys teaching, mentoring and volunteering throughout the Houston area.  He believes in being conservative with his treatment recommendations and only recommends surgery when less-invasive treatments have failed. Joshua D. Harris, MD, is a dedicated and experienced orthopedic specialist in Houston. He has advanced training in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery for the treatment of labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement, labral reconstruction, gluteus medius tears, hamstring tears, and ischiofemoral impingement. Dr. Harris treats patients from puberty through adulthood to ensure patients have a comfortable, active life free from pain and disability. Dr. Harris is an international leader in orthopedic sports medicine and hip preservation research, having written over 250 peer-reviewed publications, 50 book chapters, and 3 books.

Dr. Harris earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He then attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus for his medical doctorate (M.D.) and Orthopedic Surgery residency. After completing his residency, Dr. Harris completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Rush University in Chicago. Following his fellowship, Dr. Harris completed an additional traveling fellowship in arthroscopic hip preservation surgery.

During his time in Chicago, Dr. Harris served as an orthopedist for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Steel, and the DePaul University men’s and women’s basketball and soccer teams. He then relocated to Houston to establish his practice and offer evidence-based orthopedic medicine to help with a wide range of orthopedic and hip-specific complaints.

In addition to his clinical practice and prolific research program, Dr. Harris is also Associate Editor for the prestigious Arthroscopy Journal. Michael Trice, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who treats every patient as he would his friends and family: with the highest degree of personalized care. Dr. Trice specializes in treating injuries and arthritis of the knee, hip, and shoulder at Complete Orthopaedics in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Trice earned his bachelor’s degree at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, before completing his medical degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Renowned sports medicine physician David Lintner, MD, brings his extensive experience to patients in Houston and Kingwood, Texas. Throughout his career, he has served as the Team Physician for several professional sports teams and lectured internationally to colleagues in his field.

In 1982, Dr. Lintner received his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, New York, where he was named Scholar-Athlete of the year in lacrosse. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, followed by an internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Rochester.

As an expert in his field, Dr. Lintner specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. He also has expertise in treating injuries affecting throwers’ shoulders and elbows, including labral repair and “Tommy John” reconstructions. Dr. Lintner has authored over thirty scientific articles on the topics of ACL injuries, thrower’s injuries, and other sports medicine issues.

In 2005, Dr. Lintner was named Chief of Sports Medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston after holding a similar role at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also the founder and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship training program at The Houston Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Lintner’s skills as a sports medicine physician have led him into the arena of professional sports, where he served as the Head Team Physician for the Houston Dynamo Major League Soccer team, the Head Team Physician for Lee College, and the physician for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Dr. Lintner continues to serve as the Head Team Physician for the Houston Astros, as well as a Team Physician for the Houston Texans.

Dr. Lintner is the past President of the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association, and a member of the Baseball Commissioner’s Medical Advisory Committee. In 2000, he was selected as a Traveling Fellow for the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and ventured to Southeast and East Asia where he was a visiting professor at multiple universities as well as the National Sports Councils in Malaysia and Hong Kong. Dr. Lintner also served as the Keynote Speaker at the Congress of Futbol Injuries in Madrid, Spain, in 2005. Most recently, he has been invited to lecture at international sports medicine meetings in Copenhagen, Oslo, Cancun, Osaka, and Edinburgh.

Dr. Lintner has been recognized by multiple organizations for his dedication to his patients. In 2011, he was named to the US News and World Report list of The Best Doctors in America, and once again listed as a Texas Super Doc by Texas Monthly magazine. Steven E. Nolan, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon practicing sports medicine with an office in Sugar Land, Texas. Dedicated to his patients and his community for over 20 years, Dr. Steven Nolan has been named as the best orthopedic surgeon in the Fort Bend Sun and featured in three of H Texas Magazine’s “Top Doc” issues. Dr. Anderson specializes in hip arthroscopy, as well as open surgical treatments for hip pain. He has had extensive research published in orthopedic journals and has presented his findings at multiple national meetings. Dr. Anderson is also known for his expertise in treating athletes who are still growing and have open growth plates. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer, in their neighborhood of Missouri City, Texas. They have two sons, Kai and Blake, and stay active by exploring the Houston area, attending college football games, and participating in church activities.

Dr. Jeffrey E. Budoff is a board-certified orthopedic hand & upper extremity surgeon who practices with Southwest Orthopedic Group, LLP, in Houston, Pearland, and Katy, Texas. He graduated with honors from Harvard University and Cornell Medical School. After finishing his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Irvine, he completed fellowships in hand surgery and sports medicine.

Dr. Budoff is an expert in open and arthroscopic surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He aims to restore function and eliminate pain with minimally invasive procedures. He performs all of his own surgeries, including the one-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release, the least invasive technique available.

Houtan Taba, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has office locations in the Texas Medical Center area of Houston and Pearland, Texas.
