A New Braunfels native, Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and remained in the state to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston came next, followed by research and training in sleep medicine through the Texas Children’s Sleep Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Smith went into private practice in 2007 and worked with his partners to open Texas Pediatric Specialties and Family Sleep Center in 2009. He enjoys working collaboratively to offer the highest possible level of care in pediatric pulmonology and adult/pediatric sleep medicine.
When not working with patients, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Flyfishing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and soccer keep him outdoors and active, and he tries to take advantage of all that the San Antonio area has to offer.
