Kate Kennedy, DPM, is a podiatrist at Foot + Ankle Specialty Centers, with offices in Gilbert, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Kennedy grew up in a small suburban community outside of Portland, Oregon, where she developed a healthy respect for excellence as an avid horse competitor. This need to perform at the highest level would later influence for medical career as a podiatrist.
Dr. Kennedy won a national championship as an equestrian and later became a horse trainer, while also earning two bachelor degrees at Portland State University in biology and psychology. She received her doctor of podiatric medicine degree at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Health Science.
Dr. Kennedy then moved to Chicago to continue her clinical studies with a residency program that included both forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction training. Despite her rigorous studies, Dr. Kennedy also found time to publish three medical articles, including one about crusted scabies in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
When she isn’t helping her patients at Foot + Ankle Specialty Centers, Dr. Kennedy enjoys hiking, biking, golfing, and riding horses.
Dr. Amelia Harris, DPM, is a podiatry specialist at Foot + Ankle Specialty Centers with offices in Gilbert, Scottsdale, Chandler, Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Harris possesses special interest in the mechanics of movement and the key role the foot and ankle play in mobility. Dr. Harris practices integrative medicine and has expertise in diabetic foot and wound care.
Dr. Harris is a native to Arizona and has a background in science, fine art and athletics that led to her career as a foot and ankle specialist. After completing her dual bachelor degrees at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Dr. Harris was granted acceptance with scholarship to Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. It was there that she completed her doctorate degree of podiatric medicine with additional masters in health care administration.

Dr. Sarraf’s areas of expertise include ankle trauma, Achilles tendon ruptures, podopediatrics, ankle arthroscopy and reconstruction and biomechanics.
Dr. Sarraf began his journey as a physician at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with bachelor degrees in microbiology and molecular genetics. He then went on to earn his podiatric medicine degree at the prestigious California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in San Francisco, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Safar was born and raised in Houston, TX. After attending college at The University of Texas at Austin, he received his medical education from Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine in Ohio. Dr. Safar attended Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ for his reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency training emphasizing in limb salvage and wound care. It was during his residency where Dr. Safar became experienced in all of the conservative and surgical scopes of Podiatry. Dr. Safar is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Safar’s passion for medicine began at a very early age when all he wanted to do was help those in need. He constantly volunteered at hospitals and shelters growing up and was part of Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) during high school. While in college, Dr. Safar was published in a research article at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX which further motivated him into pursuing his interest in medicine.

Jeffrey McAlister, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, who specializes in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction with offices in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. McAlister’s passion for patient care began at the University of Iowa, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 2004, before garnering an interest in podiatric medicine and surgery during his time at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Since his days as a podiatric medical student, Dr. McAlister has gone on to continue his education whenever possible. He completed a rigorous residency training in the northern Virginia suburbs through the INOVA Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Residency program, where he received specialized training in foot and ankle trauma, adult and pediatric reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage.
Some of Dr. McAlister’s rotations during his time in the program included internal medicine, infectious diseases, vascular surgery, emergency medicine, and general surgery.
Under the mentorship of prominent doctors like John Steinberg DPM and Chris Attinger MD, Dr. McAlister even served as chief resident for the limb salvage service at Georgetown University Hospital during that time.
Dr. Jeffrey E. McAlister is honored to be one of only a few podiatric surgeons in the United States that has completed a 12 month surgical fellowship at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. This is a unique fellowship that trains both Podiatric and Orthopedic Surgeons. This advanced surgical training focused on foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction as well as total ankle replacement. This was completed in Columbus, Ohio under the direction of Christopher Hyer, DPM, Gregory Berlet MD, Thomas Lee MD and Terrence Philbin DO and was affiliated with Grant Medical Hospital and The Ohio State University. This is the same type of fellowship that MD/DO orthopedic surgeons complete if they wish to sub-specialize in the foot and ankle.

Shylaja Arya, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at Arya Foot & Ankle in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Arya loves being part of her community. Thereafter, he completed a three-year podiatric medical and surgical residency at Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. C. Jon Beecroft, DPM, of Ahwatukee Foot & Ankle Center in Phoenix and Maricopa, Arizona, did a three-year surgical residency and has more than 15 years experience in surgery and medicine. He is qualified to treat orthopedic, dermatological, diabetic, trauma, reconstruction and any medical problems with the foot and ankle.
He started with Ahwatukee Foot and Ankle in 2005 and with Maricopa Foot and Ankle office in 2008. He has office hours in both Ahwatukee and Maricopa.

Ryan Golub, DPM, has been addressing foot health in the Phoenix area since 2003, including serving as the team podiatrist for the Phoenix Suns, and now heads up his private practice, Arizona Foot Health. With the belief that each of his patients is as complex and unique as their feet, Dr. Golub delivers individualized, one-on-one care that restores pain-free function. Dr. Golub earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Newark in 1994 and went on to obtain his medical degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland in 1998. Zachary Flynn, DPM, FACFAS, is a podiatrist practicing at Arizona Foot Health in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Flynn became interested in podiatric medicine at an early age when he accompanied family members to podiatry appointments for various ailments. After graduation, Dr. Flynn was accepted to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center’s residency program in Hartford, Connecticut, where he received invaluable training in forefoot reconstruction, hindfoot and ankle instruction, trauma, and diabetic limb salvage.
After completing his residency, Dr. Flynn furthered his surgical expertise in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and total joint replacement by completing the Dr. Lawrence DiDomenico’s fellowship program in Youngstown, Ohio. Through this program, he gained valuable insights into performing limb salvage, Charcot reconstruction, revision surgery, and total ankle replacement. The totality of his training places Dr. Flynn in the unique position of having advanced training, surgical knowledge, and the patient skills to successfully treat the most complex lower extremity pathologies.
Dr. Flynn has returned to his roots here in Arizona and has found a community that he enjoys treating and is committed to using his expertise and passion for foot and ankle surgery to improve patient outcomes.
