Blossom Psychiatric Services is a husband and wife team with years of experience. Paul Garraty is a psychiatric nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority and wife, Lois Garraty is a registered nurse. We are here to deliver treatment for a variety of mental illnesses.
Persons with life-changing psychiatric illnesses such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention deficit disorder, and substance abuse will benefit from our team approach. Our primary treatment approach is medication management, but.......
Paul is qualified to provide an introduction to ACT, acceptance commitment therapy. This therapy approach allows the patient to focus on their goals and values in life, and teaches how to reject ruminating thoughts and images of failure.
We also treat substance abuse focusing on an 12 step approach. We refrain from using any potentially addictive substances to treat addiction.
Additionally, Blossom Psychiatric Services will not write instant release stimulants. We will only write for long acting stimulants which have less potential for addiction.
Furthermore, we will not prescribe chronic benzodiazepine abuse. Benzodiazepines should be used on a short term basis. Persons who take numerous benzodiazepines on a daily basis are at risk and are referred to the emergency room for detox.
Patients attend an initial 90-minute in-person evaluation with 30-minute telehealth follow-up appointments. Paul and Lois focus on patient education because patients who understand their diagnosis and are familiar with the actions / side effects of their medications are more likely to be compliant and successful with their treatment.
The practice accepts many insurance plans, including Health First Colorado Access Medicaid.
Call Blossom Psychiatric Services or request an appointment online today to learn more about the high-quality mental health care Paul and the team provide. (970 549 6875)
