Before joining Arthritis Northwest PLLC, Dr. Butler taught medicine and rheumatology at Oregon Health & Science University and then spent 10 years in private practice in the Spokane area.
In addition to his passion for helping patients, Dr. Butler is committed to his role as a principal investigator in clinical research.

Experienced rheumatologist Howard Kenney, MD, is a founding partner of Arthritis Northwest PLLC in Spokane, Washington. He uses his vast knowledge of rheumatological disorders to help patients old and young who are living with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
Dr. Kenney attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he earned an undergraduate degree in zoology. He moved on to the University of Utah’s medical school to complete his medical degree.
Following his graduation, Dr. Kenney completed numerous training courses as well as a residency and fellowship in rheumatology through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Kern Medical Center program in Bakersfield, California.
Dr. Kenney has won numerous academic awards for his contribution to medical knowledge during his remarkable career. He currently serves as an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Kenney has held a license to practice medicine in Washington since 1983 and is affiliated with Deaconess Medical Center and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Christopher Wright, MD, joined Arthritis Northwest PLLC in Spokane, Washington, in 2017. He has a special interest in the fields of rheumatology and autoimmune disorders, with particular expertise in osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Wright grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin in 2005. He then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch UTMB Health in Galveston, earning his medical degree in 2009.
After qualifying, Dr. Wright undertook his internship and then his residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas. For his fellowship in rheumatology, Dr. Wright studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) at Houston.
Dr. Wright is enjoying life in the Inland Northwest with his wife and three children. When he's not attending to patients, Dr. Wright likes to relax with his family and pursue his hobbies, which include hiking, music (particularly jazz), gardening, and reading science fiction and history books.
