I began my career in the addiction field managing a non-profit treatment center in Seattle, Washington, the area I was born and raised. I chose the field due to being a recovering alcoholic that knows what it feels like to be stuck in the depths of addiction and knew that helping others is the path to freedom. I moved to North Carolina in the spring of 2012, became a substance abuse counselor and continued working with those with addiction in recovery housing, IOP programs and residential treatment. I found myself in the business development field and feel like I have found my true calling being able to continue having personal and professional insight as a recovering person and clinician yet getting the opportunity every day to speak with people in need, their families and other’s in the field of addiction that need support to best help those in need.
“Charles and his team were all very supportive and understanding with the situation you are in. They gave clear and concise instructions from the initial evaluation until the completion of the course. Reaching out and making themselves available for any questions or concerns I had even after completing the course. They sent the completed class to the DMV and insured it was accepted and told me as much.
During a very stressful time the folks at New Hope were amazing putting my mind at ease!”

I'm an advocate for self-care and believe that healthy self-care is vital. My self-care involves spending time with my family, playing games with my wife, and taking care of our rescue dog Tilly. I also find that cooking for my family is very therapeutic and helps me unwind after a stressful day.

“I have been seeing Steve for 9-10 years. He is very dedicated to his profession and cares about his clients. Both he and Marie do a great job of responding to me in terms of personal help, scheduling appointments, or insurance issues. I highly recommend them, and I have had several therapists in different practices.”

“On my 1st visit she asked if I've been to therapy before, I answered. Then she said she had alot of basic info ?s for the first time and asked what brought me in.
I didn't shut up for the whole 55 mins, not letting her ask me 1 question, and she took it with grace and patience. I felt completely comfortable just because she didn't stop me or interrupt.”
