With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Chase is well recognized in the field of dental sleep care. Dr. Chase attended Georgetown University Dental School in Washington DC, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He then went on to complete a residency in head and neck cancer studies at Howard University Dental School, also in Washington DC. He continued furthering his education in head and neck cancer and oral appliance therapy for post-surgical cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. 

Outside the office, Dr. Chase maintains an interest in the field of dental sleep medicine. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Sleep Society.

In addition to his work in patient care, Dr. Garelick continues to pursue the latest innovations in the field of dental sleep medicine. He received his diplomate from The American Sleep and Breathing Academy in 2017. Dr. Garelick is also an active member in the American Dental Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorder Discipline, New Jersey Dental Sleep Academy, and the New York State Dental Society. 

In Dr. Garelick's Spare time he enjoys golf, reading, and spending time with his family. He recently welcomed his first grandchild.

Meet Dr. Malkis

Avi Malkis at Larchmont Family Dental brightens smiles in Larchmont and Westchester County, providing comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. He specializes in cosmetic restorations, implants, crowns, and bridges. Invisalign®-certified and trained in multiple implant systems including Zimmer, Straumann, and Nobel Biocare, Dr. Malkis is a highly skilled expert in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

After completing undergraduate coursework at Brooklyn College, Dr. Malkis attended the New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) to obtain his doctor of dental surgery.

While at NYU, he was given an award for Most Outstanding Senior Dental Student by the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, completed academic research on the subject of bleeding complications under Dr. Michael Turner, and earned academic honors in both head and neck anatomy and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Malkis received “Most Outstanding Student with a focus on Oral Surgery" honors and graduated in the top 10% of his class in 2010. While at NYUCD, Dr. Malkis did humanitarian work by providing underserved people in Nicaragua with dental care.

In addition to his work as a dentist, Dr. Malkis has broad experience in teaching and research. He spent a year as a tutor for first-year dental students in the Head and Neck Anatomy course at NYUCD, and also as a teaching assistant for first-year dental students in the General Dentistry Simulation I Clinic. In his free time, Dr. Malkis stays fit by running, weight lifting, and enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.

Dr. Daniela Hijazin was born and raised in the Bronx and attended Fordham University and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996. She completed her DDS degree from NYU college of Dentistry in 2000 where she received the David B. Kriser Award, the highest award in her graduating class. She went on to complete her general practice residency from Montefiore/Jacobi Medical Center.

Shahin Ghobadi, DMD, is a highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Ghobadi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He brings more than 15 years of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, implants, grafting, and sedation dentistry to patients in Mamaroneck, New York, and throughout Westchester County. 

Dr. Ghobadi began his professional education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine. During his final year in the program, Dr. Ghobadi received the Dental Implant Student Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Predoctoral Achievement Award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. 

After graduation, Dr. Ghobadi completed a residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Ghobadi excelled in the program, earning the title of chief resident for one year.

Frantz Backer, DDS, is a highly skilled cosmetic and implant dentist who’s been practicing since 2000. He provides patients with excellent oral health care at Advanced Dentistry of New York in Jackson Heights, Queens, and Brooklyn Heights, New York City. 

After earning his dental degree in 1999 from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, Dr. Backer completed a general residency in 2000. Before his dental career, he attended the Physician Assistant program at Touro College School of Health Sciences in Manhattan, New York City, and spent six years practicing general surgery.

Patricia Pasnikowska, DMD, is an experienced cosmetic dentist at HP Dentistry PC in Mamaroneck, New York. Born in Poland, Dr. Pasnikowska moved to White Plains, New York, at a young age, and she is excited to be back practicing in the Westchester area.

While growing up, Dr. Pasnikowska was surrounded by the world of medicine, which strongly influenced her desire to pursue a career in dentistry. After graduating from Haverford College in Pennsylvania, Dr. Pasnikowska worked in the financial sector in New York City.

While she enjoyed this time of her life, her passion for medicine could not be ignored. She volunteered at a dental clinic in her free time, and this is where her love of dentistry began. Dr. Pasnikowska then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2007.
