Elizabeth Finsness, or “Liza”, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Dallas, TX.
She graduated from University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She competed on UGA’s NCAA Equestrian team where she was named All-American four years, obtaining a National Championship and two SEC Championship titles. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky. Liza began her dermatology career in south Florida where she practiced general and surgical dermatology for 2 years before moving to Texas. Eva was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her family at age 10. She graduated cum laude from St. Edwards University in Austin with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 2017. Eva received several academic scholarships throughout her academic career and maintained a position on the Dean’s List. After college, she spent her first postgraduate year working in the Emergency department and volunteering at rural clinics in Mexico and Peru. Eva then attained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. She is bilingual and motivated to help the Corpus Christi community in their skin needs. Eva’s interest in helping the community and passion for overall skin care is what drove her to pursue a field in dermatology; her interest was further motivated during her clinical rotations. Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Eva specialized in Internal Medicine in Mcallen, Texas. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care and enjoys staying up to date with new techniques and products out in the market. She prioritizes the importance of patient education and preventative medicine.
Eva received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Eva is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Tara grew up in Norman, OK moving to Texas to attend Baylor University where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, she worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Medical City Children's Hospital. Tara earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington where she was an MSN Academic Scholar. Tara is completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Duke University in 2017. She lives near White Rock Lake with her husband, Peter, and 3 children.
Tara is excited to return to Lakewood. She first worked in the same location at Lakewood Medical Center in 2008, but left to care for the underserved community of West Dallas. Tara is bilingual and enjoys seeing patients across the lifespan. She feels that preventive care is vital in the reduction of chronic illnesses. Tara, also, has more than 15 years experience in aesthetics. She performs cosmetic injections including Botox and dermal fillers.

Born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Alyssa brings more than a decade’s worth of nursing experience to Lakewood Family Health. An athlete at heart, she played Division 1 lacrosse at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. Alyssa has worked as a Registered Nurse at some of the most well-respected healthcare institutions in the entire country.
