Tara grew up in Norman, OK moving to Texas to attend Baylor University where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, she worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Medical City Children's Hospital. Tara earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington where she was an MSN Academic Scholar. Tara is completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Duke University in 2017. She lives near White Rock Lake with her husband, Peter, and 3 children. Tara is excited to return to Lakewood. Born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Alyssa brings more than a decade’s worth of nursing experience to Lakewood Family Health. An athlete at heart, she played Division 1 lacrosse at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. Alyssa has worked as a Registered Nurse at some of the most well-respected healthcare institutions in the entire country. The majority of her experience was spent as an RN in the cardiac surgical intensive care unit. ​More recently, she decided to continue her studies and began graduate school. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He relocated to Texas after serving in the United States Air Force (USAF or US Air Force). 

Dennis was stationed in Hawaii, North Dakota, Portugal, and Jordan. During his time in the military, Dennis discovered a passion for helping people and wanted to pursue a career that combined this desire to help people with his love for being active.

Sherrie Hoover, RNC-FNP completed her Master of Science in Nursing in 2012 at Texas Women’s University and has been a Nurse Practitioner for 10 years. She has lived in the Rockwall area since 2007. Sherrie is a true caregiver and has been in Nursing for over 20 years. Sherrie chose family practice because she enjoys treating patients of all ages. She is passionate about preventive health, pediatrics, geriatrics, and women’s health. Sherrie also carries multiple certifications in cosmetic injectables. In her free time, Sherrie enjoys traveling, volunteering and spending time with her husband and 2 boys. She is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

Elizabeth Finsness, or “Liza”, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Dallas, TX.

She graduated from University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She competed on UGA’s NCAA Equestrian team where she was named All-American four years, obtaining a National Championship and two SEC Championship titles. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky. Liza began her dermatology career in south Florida where she practiced general and surgical dermatology for 2 years before moving to Texas. Andrea Bowden, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Tomball, Texas. She joined the practice in 2022

Andrea grew up in Round Rock, TX. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with her Bachelor of Science in Health. She then went on to receive her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2017. Prior to completing her graduate studies, Andrea worked as a medical assistant in dermatology which motivated her to focus her sights on becoming a dermatology PA.

Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Andrea specialized in gastroenterology at UTMB in League City, TX. She has received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Andrea has a passion for providing a positive bed-side manner to formulate a diagnosis. Her goal is to actively collaborate with her patients to come up with an effective treatment plan that works for each individual patient.

Andrea is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Eva was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her family at age 10. She graduated cum laude from St. Edwards University in Austin with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 2017. Eva received several academic scholarships throughout her academic career and maintained a position on the Dean’s List. After college, she spent her first postgraduate year working in the Emergency department and volunteering at rural clinics in Mexico and Peru. Eva then attained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. She is bilingual and motivated to help the Corpus Christi community in their skin needs. Eva’s interest in helping the community and passion for overall skin care is what drove her to pursue a field in dermatology; her interest was further motivated during her clinical rotations. Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Eva specialized in Internal Medicine in Mcallen, Texas. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care and enjoys staying up to date with new techniques and products out in the market. She prioritizes the importance of patient education and preventative medicine.

Dr. Tâm Cung's home has always been the DFW area since he was 4-years-old, when his parents immigrated to America as political refugees to escape communist Vietnam. He then went to the UT San Antonio Medical School and completed his internship in Internal Medicine. Dr. Nguyen transferred to the UTMB to complete his residency in Internal Medicine.
