Dr. Orthoefer practices as an internal medicine hospitalist with Stat Care. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Memphis in 1997. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville in 2000. He received board certification in general internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2000, and he received certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine with a focused practice in hospital medicine in 2010. He continues to maintain certification in hospital medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Kamran Boka has been with StatCare practicing pulmonary and critical care medicine since 2019. He completed his medical training in Detroit, Michigan, including an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. John Hospital & Medical Center, now Ascension, and his pulmonary critical care medicine fellowship from Henry Ford Health System. Dr. Boka previously practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine at a large academic university center, where his responsibilities included attending to critically ill patients in various subspecialty ICUs, maintaining his pulmonary clinic, and educating medical residents, pulmonary and critical care fellows, and medical students.
His special interests include bedside critical care medicine, point-of-care ultrasound, community medical education, and electronic-ICU.
Dr. Boka's approach to patients has been and continues to be compassionate bedside care; he performs this thorough in-depth empathic discussions with patients and their families. By conducting multidisciplinary rounding styles, he engages families, nurses, and critical care support teams on his rounds. Since practicing in academics, he continues to be a passionate educator who believes in a dedicated effort of further educating junior physicians and advanced practice practitioners on how to listen to patients, their needs, and desires, and that technology should only be used to augment and supplement the human touch.
He has consulted, led, and directed efforts on how to use social media in medicine and the education and practice of bedside critical care ultrasound (POCUS) at different programs. Among earning excellence in teaching awards, Dr. Boka has been nominated Physician of the Year and has won the honor of Top Doctors. He has held the national section editorial board position of Social Media Co-Editor for CHEST and its CHEST journal. He is a member of CHEST (American College of Chest Physicians) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Morrison comes to StatCare to practice in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Morrison completed Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Hospital with the University of Pittsburgh, PA and his Fellowship in 2009 at the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT. He has a special interest in advanced pulmonary diagnostics utilizing bronchoscopic computer navigation and endobronchial ultrasound techniques for diagnosing lung lesions. In addition to advanced diagnostics, he has an additional special interest in advanced interventional pulmonary including airway stenting, tumor debulking, bronchial thermoplastic, pleural diagnostics and interventions. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2006, Pulmonary Disease in 2008 and Critical Care Medicine in 2009 and remains board certified in both fields. Dr. Morrison is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Brunson comes to StatCare to practice in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He graduated from Rhodes College in 1988. Dr. Brunson completed Residency at the University of Alabama and his Fellowship at University of Tennessee. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2012, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in 1999 in which he currently remains board certified. Dr. Blackburn joined StatCare in 2022 to practice in the field of hospitalist internal medicine. She graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2019 and completed Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in 2022. Dr. Doers is the founding member of StatCare. He is the Managing Partner as well as practices in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1985. Dr. Doers completed both Residency in 1988 and his Fellowship in 1991 at the University of Cincinnati, OH. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1989, Pulmonary in 1990 and Critical Care Medicine in 1991 and currently remains board certified in these fields. Dr. Raj joined StatCare in 2022 to practice in the field of hospitalist internal medicine. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2007 and completed Residency in Internal Medicine at ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine in 2013. Before joining StatCare, she practiced in Columbia, TN. Dr. Raj is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American College of Physicians. She enjoys traveling, baking, gardening, crafting, and reading. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hindi.
Dr. Alsharif practices pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine with StatCare. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Alsharif completed both Residency and Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tennessee. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2012, Pulmonary Medicine in 2014, Critical Care Medicine in 2015, and Sleep Medicine in 2016. Dr. Alsharif is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Thoracic Society, and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Bashar Bargoty is a Pulmonologist in Knoxville, TN and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and Parkwest Medical Center. Dr. Bargoty received his medical degree from University of Baghdad College of Medicine and then completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He began working with StatCare in 2015.
Dr. Bargoty is board certified in both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and is experienced in Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Interstitial lung disease, Pleural effusions, Lung nodules, Lung cancer, Pulmonary Hypertension, and all aspects of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Bargoty is an experienced Interventional Pulmonologist and performs advanced pulmonary diagnostics utilizing bronchoscopic computer navigation and endobronchial ultrasound techniques for diagnosing lung lesions. He has several medical research publications and had received the American Thoracic Society Abstract Scholarship Award at The American Thoracic Society International Conference, 2014.
Dr. Bargoty enjoys teaching medical students and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of his busy practice, Dr. Bargoty likes to enjoy outdoor activities around Knoxville and the Smokey Mountains with his wife and two children. He is fluent in English, Arabic and knows basic Hebrew.
Dr. Estes has been practicing pulmonary and critical care in Knoxville, TN since 1991 and has been with StatCare practicing pulmonary and critical care since 2000. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1980, and medical school from the University of South Florida in 1984. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham hospitals and pulmonary critical care fellowship at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, completing in 1989. Dr. Estes has a special interest in advanced pulmonary diagnostics utilizing bronchoscopic computer navigation and endobronchial ultrasound techniques for diagnosing lung lesions. He completed his Critical Care Fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and his Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center at Bowling Green. Dr. Arabiat received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2018, Pulmonary Medicine in 2022, and Critical Care Medicine in 2020. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
