Dr. Alicia Romero is a Spanish – English bilingual native of Venezuela. She completed her medical school at the University of Zulia in Venezuela in 2001. After her graduation, she relocated to Galveston, Texas, where she received her training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed her fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Texas at Houston. During her fellowship she published several manuscripts. She joined Renal Clinic of Houston in October 2012.
Dr. Romero has her medical license in Texas and she is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology.

Rajiv Lal, MD, is a nephrology specialist. He joined Renal Clinic of Houston in 2006 and is affiliated with several medical facilities in northwest Houston.
Dr. Lal graduated from India’s premier institute All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He received his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and has since made Houston his home. Dr. Lal speaks English, Hindi, and Spanish and is well-positioned to treat a variety of patients.
Dr. Lal has served as Chief of Medicine at North Cypress Medical Center Hospital. He currently serves as President of Medical Staff and Director of Dialysis Services at Kindred Northwest.
Dr. Lal is a member of the Critical Care Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Quality Utilization Committee at NCMC Hospital. Dr. Lal also served as an Alternate Delegate for the House of Delegates at Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Lal is an avid bicyclist and runner. He has completed several marathons and has bicycled the prestigious TourDuRouge from Houston to New Orleans.
Dr. Mukesh Sinha is a native Houstonian and completed his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in 2000. He is a 2004 graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX. After his graduation, he relocated to Rochester, Minnesota, where he received his training in Internal Medicine at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic. He remained at Mayo Clinic to complete his fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. During his fellowship he published several manuscripts and was appointed as Instructor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. He was honored with the Clinical Fellow of the Year Award for academic year 2009-2010. He joined Renal Clinic of Houston in 2010.
Dr. Sinha has his medical license in Minnesota and Texas. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, American Society of Nephrology and Renal Physicians Association.

Kelly Mercier, DO, is board-certified in nephrology and hypertension, and internal medicine. She sees patients at Hypertension Nephrology Associates, PC, in Livonia, Michigan.
Dr. Mercier received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Michigan State University. Throughout these years, she maintained her commitment to assisting the community and fellow classmates, often involved in educational services. She completed medical school as a member of Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society. Dr. Mercier completed her internal medicine residency training at Botsford Hospital, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Her subspecialty training in nephrology was performed at Botsford Hospital as well. During her final year of training, she was named the Chief Nephrology Fellow for her program.
Currently, Dr. Mercier is a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Her dedication to health maintenance and her patients have continued to grow throughout her training.

Ghayas Habach, MD, MPH, is a board-certified nephrologist serving patients at Merit Health Care, PC, with offices in Sylacauga and Talladega, Alabama. He has practiced internal medicine and nephology for almost 25 years and holds himself and his treatment of others to high standards.
Dr. Habach became interested in medicine during his adolescence after witnessing the compassion and sincerity displayed by a physician in his family. Driven by a strong motivation to learn and succeed, Dr. Habach was determined to become a physician and impact the lives of many.
He completed medical school at Damascus University in Damascus, Syria, and a one-year externship in London, England. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Habach served as a program officer for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Damascus, where he played a pivotal role in immunizing 1.3 million Syrian children.
Dr. Habach's deep interest in healthcare policy and public health aspects influenced him to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Habach believes physicians have a duty to educate, teaching patients how to care for their health, not only alleviating symptoms and prescribing drugs. He also believes physicians should be role models who demonstrate the ideals of ethics, righteousness, and compassion in every aspect of their lives. These are the ideals Dr. Habach has strived to embody for the last 25 years and continues to strive towards with enthusiasm and focus.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Habach enjoys reading poetry and history, playing tennis, and listening to music, especially James Taylor. He also enjoys spending time with his children and watching them grow into independent and passionate individuals.
