Tony Akpengbe, DNP, is a double board-certified adult geriatric and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. He is also the co-owner and CEO of Diligence Care Plus in San Bernardino, California, providing high-quality, evidence-based medical care.
Dr. Akpengbe obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts Global, formerly Brandman University, in Irvine, California. Dr. Akpengbe also holds a master's degree from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is certified to provide medical and psychiatric care in California.
Dr. Akpengbe has been in practice for 17 years, working as a registered nurse at Arrowhead Behavioral Center, Community Hospital of San Bernardino, and the Department of Mental Health (Metropolitan, Patton, and Coalinga State Hospital.).
He has also provided medical care as a nurse practitioner at Metropolitan Family Medical Clinic and Kaiser Permanente and medication management and psychotherapy at Advances and Breakthroughs in Mental Health, Array Behavioral Care, and Find Your Balance Behavioral Healthcare.
Dr. Akpengbe's expertise extends to clients with developmental challenges at Lanterman Developmental Center, where he helps them achieve better outcomes with well-crafted individual plans. Dr. Akpengbe also has extensive experience meeting the mental health needs of teenagers and adults using medication management for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and ADHD.
