Sejal R. Lauro, MS, RPA-C, is a board-certified and licensed physician assistant with over twenty years of health care experience. She is proud to provide compassionate medical care to patients at Stoneleigh Medical Group's two locations in Pawling and Jefferson Valley, New York.

Sejal received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies with a specialization in internal medicine from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. She is nutritarian certified in plant-based nutrition, allowing her to serve a broad patient population. In addition, Sejal is certified in performing nonsurgical cosmetic procedures and is widely known for her attention to detail and fine-tuned skills in this area.

Rajiv Perinbasekar MD, is a gastroenterologist at Westchester Putnam Gastroenterology. He is passionate about providing high quality and personalized care to patients living in Putnam and northern Westchester. 

Dr. Perinbasekar received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency he received awards for his research in inflammatory bowel disease. He then completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Hofstra-Northwell at Northshore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow.

Dr. Perinbasekar is knowledgeable in the treatment of digestive diseases of the gastrointestinal system and the liver, including colorectal cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver disease. He has a special interest in using new technologies to enhance patient care.

Dr. Kushner is a native of New York and received his medical degree at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn in 1990. He completed his medical internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and then served as an emergency room physician there for one year. He completed his gastroenterology/liver disease fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he remained on staff as a teaching faculty member before entering private practice in 1997. He has been voted as one of the top gastroenterologists in the Hudson Valley since 2016.

Welcome To Our Practice

Maria Lufrano, MD, is a specialist in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. At her practice – ML Gastroenterology in Bronxville, New York – she treats disorders of the digestive system, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), colitis, functional disorders of the gut, and liver disease on a daily basis. 

Dr. Lufrano grew up in Westchester County and graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism as well a minor in biology and chemistry. She then pursued a Master in Science from New York Medical College in biochemistry and molecular biology. During her post-graduate training, she focused on breast cancer research. Maria continued to be interested in medicine and research and decided to pursue a degree in medicine. In 2002 she graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at North Shore University Hospital – Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Long Island in 2012. 

She has remained actively involved in research throughout her career and has published several scientific papers and presented at national scientific meetings. She is double board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Lufrano is committed to the highest level of patient care. She employs the latest technology to provide an individualized approach to patient medical needs. Her primary focus is preventive and integrative medicine as well as conventional medicine. She has incorporated the effects of nutrition and diet into the treatment plans of her patients. She understands the importance of treating the body as a whole and the positive impact of treating ailments using an integrative approach. In addition to conventional therapies, she offers nutrigenomics, micronutrient testing, evaluation of the microbiome, and personalized anti-inflammatory dietary plans for patients with IBS, leaky gut, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and dyspepsia. She also has developed an anti-inflammatory weight loss program for her patients.

She is currently an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Lawrence hospital and St. John’s Riverside Hospital – Dobbs Ferry Pavilion. She holds professional membership in several national societies, including the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Medical Association.
