My story starts from modest beginnings – I was the first to go to college in my family, to Wayne State University, and made my own way with the help and support of my family. I made my way to the island of St. Martin (yes, in the Caribbean) to begin my medical career at the American University of the Caribbean. This is where I truly developed my independence. I packed everything I owned into two bags of luggage and didn’t turn back for the next four years. I lived out of these suitcases and traveled to many different states and met so many great people on my adventures. 

I completed my residency at Ascension St. John where I was co-chief resident with Dr. Murthy. We have been friends and colleagues ever since. I’m happy to share that she delivered my second daughter, Vivienne. I met Dr. Goulding at our last practice and our friendship has grown over the years. She educates me in so many different ways and love to cheer her on in this crazy game we call life! We are so excited to start this journey together at Beyond Women’s Care and we think our 3 personalities will make the best experience for our patients.

In my free time, I’m a mother of 2 lovely ladies named Audrey and Vivienne who are 5 and 6. I’ve been married for 9 years and really enjoy snow skiing, fashion, makeup, and fitness. I love to exercise for my sanity and if you place me in an Ulta or Sephora, I will not walk out without spending less then $100.

Sapna Murthy, MD, is a board-certified OBGYN and an advanced robotic and laparoscopic surgeon with the team at Beyond Women’s Care in Rochester Hills, Michigan. 

I am a wife, mother, doctor and a businesswoman. Just like any woman, I wear many hats. I come from very humble beginnings and was raised to be a strong, positive, independent woman. I grew up in India and finished my medical school there. During medical school, I developed the passion for women’s health. I did residency training in obstetrics and gynecology in India. During this time, I married my high school sweetheart. Life after 2001 suddenly shifted and my husband had to move to the United States. That’s when I made a career move and came to the US to be together as a family. We started our new life here and I joined a residency program at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit. I enjoyed every single day of my training. This is where I met Dr. Kelly Gumbrecht. Kelly and I were always a great team. We began taking over the world together when we both became chief residents. Since then I have found a forever friend. We started working together in private practice in Rochester Hills and that’s when we found another friend in Dr. Goulding.

Beyond Women’s Care brings new beginnings and hope for me. We come together as a team of friends who are more like family, and we bring the same support and compassion to our patients.

Dr. Murthy’s special interests include adolescent health, obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery including DaVinci Robotic surgery, and urinary incontinence.

I grew up right here in Rochester Hills and I am so happy to be able to practice medicine in my hometown at Beyond Women's Care. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a physician, a determination that was tested - but never wavered - during my college years at the University of Michigan. I developed a passion for women's care as a medical student at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and subsequently completed my residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ascension Providence Hospital in 2019.

Before joining Beyond Women's Care, I was an OBGYN in another private practice in the metro Detroit area. I have had the opportunity to work with a wonderful array of patients from many different backgrounds and with many different care needs. 

In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, our two-year-old son, Teddy, and our two cats. I also love to run, travel, and binge watch TV shows and movies.

Dawn Goulding, MD, is a board-certified OBGYN at Beyond Women's Care in Rochester Hills, Michigan.  

2020 has brought significant change to my life. And to all of our lives. I would not have foreseen needing to wear a mask to walk out in public. I have never washed my hands so much in my life, and working in medicine, that’s saying a lot.

There has been so much change in my family life. I have marveled at the experience of watching my now fourteen year old daughter form and practice her adult self. She tugs (sometimes painfully) at boundaries as she stretches her wings. My eleven year old son is in earlier stages of this process. I can see clearly that he will be a kind and thoughtful man.

There has been so much change in the practice of Medicine as a whole. The digital age has supported major advancements in medical safety, and has provided scaffolding for the collection of ever enlarging medical information. It is no longer realistic to “know it all” in Medicine. Setting up a network of resources to rely upon help guide me towards the path of practicing Medicine that is evidence based and always pointing towards best in practice.

I could not ask for a better network to rely upon than what I have at Beyond Women’s Care. There is so much to be said for a team working together in a collaborative approach. Being part of this dynamic team offers continued exposure to new thoughts and techniques that continue to improve my offerings in the practice of Medicine. Dr. Helmick has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2009 in private practice. Upon completion of her medical residency from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, she joined the practice of Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology, PC with offices in both Bloomfield Hills and Clarkston. Dr. Helmick grew up in the metro Detroit area, where she has only been away from during her undergraduate years at Albion College and her medical school years at MSU. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Obstetrics and Gynecology at St Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, where she has held many other volunteer positions in the past as well. She also is an active gynecologic surgeon at the same hospital with performing both routine gynecologic procedures along with a special interest in female pelvic floor and urinary disorders. Dr. Helmick greatly enjoys providing minimally invasive surgical options, especially through robotic surgery, to allow her patients to undergo quality of life-improving surgeries with rapid recovery. Dr. O’Shell grew up in Walled Lake, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University earning her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. She received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her OBGYN residency locally at Providence Hospital in Southfield. Dr. O’Shell joined Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology in September 2020.

She feels fortunate to be able to provide comprehensive care to women, ranging from normal/high-risk pregnancies and preventative gynecologic care to the care of postpartum depression, abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal pap smears, birth control counseling, vaginal infections, hormone replacement therapy, and more. Dr. O’Shell is trained in minimally invasive gynecologic, pelvic and robotic surgery and is certified in da Vinci robotic surgery. She loves that this specialty allows her to follow her patients through all stages of life, beginning with adolescence, transitioning for many into pregnancy, then through mid-life, and ultimately through menopause.

Dr. O’Shell is married to her husband Chad. They have a 6-year-old dog, a boxer known as “Chip”, and have a little boy on the way, arriving June 2021.

Dr. Corsi has been practicing OB/GYN medicine for 23 years in private practice. Upon completion of his medical residency from Wayne State University he joined the practice of Associated Obstetrics and Gynecology with offices in both Bloomfield Hills and Clarkston. Dr. Corsi grew up in southeastern Michigan and feels very much ‘at home’ serving the community in which he was raised. He is currently the director of Minimally Invasive GYN Robotic Surgery at St Joseph Mercy Hospital. Here he has educated and trained many residents over the years in minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Dr. Corsi specializes in complex gynecological issues using robotics including: removal of uterine fibroids to preserve fertility, treatment of endometriosis and treatment of pelvic prolapse. Jeffrey Obron, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Lana Powell, MD, provides personalized care to her patients at Comprehensive Women’s Health, with locations in Oxford and Birmingham, Michigan. She is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than 20 years of experience.

A Michigan native, Dr. Powell has remained in her home state throughout her career. She attended the Wayne State University of Medicine in Detroit and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where she continues to be a part of the attending staff. She was also previously a faculty physician at the University of Michigan, specializing in general obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Powell is known for having a very warm bedside manner and making her patients feel at home. Megan Nelson, MSN, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife on the team at Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. She cares for patients throughout Rochester Hills, Troy, and Lenox, Michigan.

Megan completed her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery at the University of Michigan. Prior to earning her Master's degree, she received her Associate of Science in Nursing from Palomar College in California and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boise State University. During her time in California, Megan served as a volunteer doula. She also worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, from 2019 to 2022. 

At Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C., Megan's professional passions include providing holistic and trauma-informed care, supporting physiologic labor, perinatal mental health, and advocating for patient autonomy. Outside of the midwifery world, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Blake and Colton. She also loves good wine, food, and coffee!

At Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C., Meghna Dhir, D.O., is proud to partner with women throughout Rochester Hills, Troy, and Lenox, Michigan, in their healthcare journey. 

Dr. Dhir grew up in Clarkston, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing for her undergraduate training, followed by West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine for her medical degree. Dr. Dhir completed her residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. 

During residency, she served as Resident Education Chair and joined the Obstetric Initiative Committee, where she worked toward improvement initiatives in maternity care. Dr. Dhir received certifications in Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery, as well as the da Vinci (R) Robotic System. She also had the honor of working as Chief Resident in her final year. 

Dr. Dhir is passionate about women's health and feels fortunate to be able to provide comprehensive care to patients in all phases of their life. She emphasizes promoting women's empowerment through education and is committed to advocating for her patients' best interests.

On a personal note, Dr. Dhir enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She likes traveling, reading, and relaxing on a beach. She is looking forward to meeting and caring for the patients at Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C.

Dana O’Connor, DNP, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife at Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. in Rochester Hills and Troy, Michigan. Dana takes a holistic approach to care, providing medical support that encourages your wellness in all aspects of your health care. 

Dana attended Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Michigan. She then worked as a labor and delivery nurse assistant at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. During that time, she was working on completing her certifications in holistic nursing and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).  After obtaining her certifications, she went on to pursue her master’s degree in nursing at Frontier Nursing University. 

She joined Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C., in 2017, but moved to Denver, Colorado with her family in 2021. She returned to the practice in 2023 and is excited to be back home in Michigan.  

Outside of clinical practice, Dana enjoys spending time with her son, husband, and their energetic dog named Theo. They love everything that the Michigan community has to offer, including the good food, skiing, parks, taking trips to the lake, and outings to downtown Detroit.
