Yvette earned her first bachelors degree in Sports Medicine from Guilford College. Soon after graduating, Yvette moved to Miami and worked as a personal/sports trainer. During that time, Yvette received her license as a Massage Therapist and opened her own business. Yvette returned back to school to pursue her ASN in Nursing and graduated in 2007. Yvette relocated to Southwest Florida and started her 10 year nursing career with Lee Health in multiple areas/units. While working fulltime and raising a family, Yvette earned her BSN and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Yvette decided to share her knowledge with our future nurses and joined FSW part time as a Clinical Instructor. Being the ambitious person she is, Yvette continued the path towards her MSN where she completed 680 clinical hours in various specialties. Upon completion of her hours, Yvette earned her MSN with a specialty in Family Practice. Today Yvette is a Board Certified Autonomous Nurse Practitioner and owns her own practice.
Kelly Averill, MD, is a compassionate and dedicated pediatric epilepsy & neurology specialist at Texas Pediatric Specialties and Family Sleep Center in the Lockhill-Selma area of San Antonio, Texas. She truly enjoys helping patients with rare neurologic conditions and helping them through their complex medical problems.
Dr. Averill received her medical education from the University of Texas’s McGovern Medical School before pursuing a residency program in pediatric neurology.
With a passion for pediatric care, Dr. Averill is board-certified in pediatric epilepsy & neurology. She specializes in intractable epilepsy, and uses advanced treatments such as Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) and CBD oil to help patients find relief for their symptoms. In addition, she has special interest in neurocutaneous syndromes such as tuberous sclerosis, as well as pediatric stroke.
She is also an active member of The State of Texas Newborn Screening Program, and can guide parents of infants who screen positive for X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) and spinal muscular atrophy through the process of diagnosis. She offers gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy treatment.

Maria Flick is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice and Psychiatric/Mental Health. She has been in the medical field for more than 24 years, starting in the military as an Air Evacuation Medic, then transitioning to work as a civilian in a trauma center. Ms. Flick desired to pursue her educational goals, as well as gaining experience as a front-line health care worker, and graduated with honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in 2014. She has worked in the specialty areas of hematology and oncology as well as working with a large population of active-duty and retired military personnel and their dependents. Dr. Matthew Davis received his medical degree from the University at Buffalo and subsequently completed an internship in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.
He continued his training in Neurology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md., where he was also chief resident. Dr. Matthew Davis further completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine also at the University of Maryland. Dr. Davis sees adults and children with a wide variety of sleep disorders. He has special interest in neurologic disorders of sleep, including narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome and insomnia.
Dr. Davis is board certified in Sleep Medicine and Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is one of the only neurologists in the area to have expertise in sleep medicine.
