Rachel B. A dedicated researcher, Dr. Scott has co-authored several papers published in prestigious medical journals. She is a frequent lecturer and presenter at academic and medical conferences. Dr. Scott is also a member of the New England Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Scott is a clinical professor at the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

Andrew Raissis, MD, FACS, is a partner at the Colon and Rectal Surgeons of Greater Hartford, the largest dedicated colon and rectal surgery group in New England, with offices in Bloomfield and South Windsor, Connecticut. Dr. Raissis is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.   He’s dedicated to using the most clinically effective, cutting-edge methods to get the best results for the men and women who entrust their care to him.

Dr. Raissis’s career as a colon and rectal surgeon began with years of higher education. First, he graduated with a biology degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and then earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT.  During his time in medical school, Dr. Raissis volunteered his time providing ambulatory care to underserved homeless and migrant populations. 

To complete his training, Dr. Raissis completed his residency at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

Michael Renfrow, MD, FACS, brings more than 17 years of experience in general surgery to South Florida Surgical Group in Miami, Florida, serving men, women, and teens throughout Miami-Dade County.

Dr. Michael Renfrow is a board certified general surgeon, with fellowship specialization in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

He currently serves as the Chief of General Surgery, at Baptist Hospital, in Miami, Florida. He has extensive experience in surgical procedures involving the both benign and malignant disease of the stomach, esophagus, colon, gallbladder, breast, soft tissue and skin tumors, as well as complex abdominal reconstruction and hernia repair.  

Dr. Renfrow graduated, with honors, from the University of Florida. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, where he was awarded the prestigious John Foman Award for most outstanding performance in surgery.  He subsequently completed a general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital / University of Miami where he was selected as chief resident. Following residency, he pursued further specialized fellowship training, in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery in San Antonio, Texas, under the mentorship of Dr. Morris Franklin, professor emeritus at UT San Antonio.  Once he completed this specialized training, he returned to Miami, and has been serving the residents of Miami-Dade County, in his practice at South Florida Surgical Group, located at the Baptist Hospital Medical Arts Building at Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Renfrow is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He has presented at numerous academic conferences and symposiums throughout the country.  He has served as a consultant for Intuitive Surgical Inc., where he has proctored surgeons that were in the process of learning robotic surgery. He also volunteers his time at the University of Miami, training and proctoring surgical residents in robotic procedures.

Dr. Renfrow is married with three beautiful daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, and coaching his daughter’s basketball, volleyball, and soccer teams.

About Dr. Taylor

Robert Taylor, MD, is an expert in the management of cerebrovascular disorders. At Link Integrated Healthcare in Oxnard, Camarillo, and Santa Baraba, California, he practices neurointerventional surgery, neurocritical care, and vascular neurology.  

Dr. Taylor has previously served as director to the Vascular Neurology Fellowship and site director to the Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota/Fairview Hospital and the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Xenophon P. Xenophontos, MD, FACS, FSVS, is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon and founder of a state-of-the-art adult vascular medicine practice in Garden City, New York, in Nassau County. Dr. Xenophontos is dual board-certified in general and vascular surgery.

Dr. Xenophontos began his journey to his medical career as an undergraduate student at The City College of New York in New York City, where he graduated with distinction. Dr. Xenophontos earned his medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lauren Poliakin is board certified in General Surgery with Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery and board certified in Obesity Medicine. A native to California, Dr. Poliakin completed her undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University, obtaining a degree in Biology. She attended medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine. Dr. Poliakin completed her General Surgery residency training at The Brooklyn Hospital Center-Mount Sinai in Brooklyn, NY and fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. During her training, she developed a particular interest in obesity, surgical and medical weight management, nutrition, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. My staff and I strive to provide the highest standard of care and compassion to each of my patients.

Dr. Darin Davidson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, trained epidemiologist, and medical director with deep expertise in musculoskeletal health, recovery, and whole-person wellbeing. He received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa, completed orthopedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia, where he also earned a Master's in Epidemiology, and completed advanced fellowship training at Harvard University and the University of Toronto, with subspecialty experience in musculoskeletal oncology. His goal is to help patients move beyond fragmented care and into a more complete understanding of their health, so they can pursue strength, function, quality of life, and meaningful wellbeing over time.
