My approach to therapy is influenced by several factors including my own personal journey of faith as well as my training in counselor education, psychology, and empirically validated interventions. These interventions are based in family systems theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and trauma resolution.
My experience working with clients, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, along with my training, allows me to collaborate with you regarding the approach or approaches that best suit your needs.
I am solution-focused and will integrate empirically sound clinical interventions along with biblical principles to help you resolve current problems or life-long patterns. These principles are not imposed upon any client, and I welcome you to be an active participant in meeting your therapy goals.
Therapy usually works best when you schedule appointments once a week initially, although some people meet more often. Others meet less frequently once they have started meeting t
“I've been in therapy with Maria for several years. This month I experienced a serious loss in my family that heightens many of the issues that we have been working on. I could not say more emphatically that I am in a far better place to handle my grief & other challenges that I would have even a year ago. As hard as it is, I am grateful for the growth and skills i've developed. 5 Stars. highly recommend.”
